78.2% IDA MERGER- AIBDPA WRITES TO FINANCE MINISTER.
CHQ has written to Shri. Arun Jaitely, Union Finance Minister on 30th June,2014, requesting intervention to issue orders for the 78.2% IDA merger to those BSNL pensioners retired before 10-06-2013.In the letter it has been pointed out that the BSNL pensioners retired after 10-06-2013 have been paid this benefit and undue delay is being caused by DOT in extending this benefit to the pre 10-06-2013 BSNL pensioners. <<view letter>>
IDA INCREASED BY 2.9% AS ON 01-07-2014.
The IDA will be 91.3% as on 1st July, 2014,an increase of 2.9%. The orders in this regard is expected to be issued with in a few days.
PENSIONERS MEMORANDUM TO 7TH PAY COMMISSION FINALISED.
The memorandum in respect of the pensioners to be submitted to the 7th Pay Commission has been finalized by the BCPC. The meeting held for this purpose on 28th June 2014 was presided over by Com.S. C. Maheswari, President. Com. S. K. Vyas, Secretary General briefed the important points included in the memorandum. Representing AIBDPA, Com. V. A. N. Namboodiri, Advisor and also Deputy Secretary General, BCPC participated in the discussion. The suggestions put forward by AIBDPA particularly in respect of BSNL pensioners have been incorporated in the memorandum.
The pensioners issues will be treated as Part II of the common memorandum to be submitted to the Pay Commission by the central government employees organisations.

78.2% IDA MERGER- UNCERTAINITY CONTINUES.
Shri. Prachish Khanna, Director (Establishment) ,with whom General Secretary, Com.K. G. Jayaraj had a talk today, the 27th June, 2014 has stated that the file on 78.2% IDA merger to BSNL pensioners is still held up at DOT as no decision is taken on the reply to the Department of Expenditure on the issue of 60-40.
The new Prime Minister is reported to be very strict to avoid bureaucratic procedural delays. Whether it is not applicable to the Department of Telecommunications.
Efforts are on to meet the Secretary, DOT and to see that the indecisiveness on this issue is solved and the reply is sent to the Department of Expenditure at the earliest.

78.2% IDA MERGER-FORUM TO PURSUE VIGOROUSLY.
The meeting of the Forum of BSNL Unions/Associations held,today, the 25th June,2014 has discussed the issue of 78.2% seriously and decided to pursue it with the DOT vigorously for an early settlement. Com. V. A. N. Namboodiri, earlier reported the latest developments with regard to this issue. He also reported the efforts to submit a joint memorandum to the 7th Pay Commission, incorporating the issues in BSNL. Com. Islam Ahmed, President, NFTE presided over the meeting.
JOINT CONFERENCE OF POSTAL UNIONS (NFPE),KERALA
36TH Joint Circle Conference of Postal Unions (NFPE), Kerala Circle has been held successfully at Kannur from 22nd to 24th , June,2014. Shri. Venkatesh Athreya, renowned economist inaugurated the conference. Coms. M. Krishnan, Secretary General, NFPE, Giriraj Singh, President, NFPE, Seethalakshmi, General Secretary, P4, Pandurenga Rao, General Secretary, GDS union, P. V. Chandrasekharan, Patron, AIBDPA, K.Mohan, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Kerala etc spoke.
Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary addressed the Trade Union Convention held in connection with the joint conference on 23-06-2014 which was inaugurated by Com.K.T. Kunhikannan and addressed by a host of leaders of various service organisations.
The conference is concluded on 24th ,June with big procession and public meeting.
GENERAL SECRETARY RETURNED TO ALAPPUZHA.
Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary has returned to Alappuzha on 18th June,2014 after serving at the CHQ for 24 days.
