DISASTER HITS UTTARAKHAND.

Many lives are reported to be lost in the glacial burst on Nandadevi triggered an avalanche and the resultant flash floods in Rishiganga and Dhauliganga rivers in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand. It was a sunny day on 7th inst and everything normal untill the tragedy hit the area. The Tapovan hydel project of NTPC was completely washed away and the several workers aslo swept away. Many people are reported to be missing and rescue operations are going on in full swing. Some of the bodies have been recovered while 16 people rescued .The actual loss of human lives and property may be known later only.

AIBDPA is saddened on the great loss and condole the demises of the people and stand with the people of Uttarakhand at this hour of calamity.

CHENNAI TELEPHONES HELD CIRCLE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING SUCCESSFULLY.

Chennai Telephones has held the Circle Executive Committee Meeting at BSNLEU office on 06-02-2021. Com.E Manibalan, Circle Vice President presided over the meeting. Com. V Kuppan, Circle Secretary welcomed and presented a brief report on the intervening period. Com.K Govindraj, Assistant Circle Secretary reported the decisions of the Central Executive Committee Meeting held on 23-01-2021.

After discussion, the CEC took the following decisions;

  1. To implement the decisions of the Central Executive Committee meeting including struggles.
  2. To accept the resignation of Treasurer, Com. N Raju on health problems and nominated Com. Senbakavalli Janarthanam , Asst Treasurer to function as Treasurer.
  3. To clear the CHQ quota and donation quota for farmers’ struggle.
  4. To form four district branches.
  5. To conduct an effective membership and Tele Pensioner campaign.

With vote of thanks by Com. M Mahalingam, Circle Organising Secretary, the CEC was concluded.

PROTEST DAY ON 01-02-2021OBSERVED SUCCESSFULLY.

The protest day on 01-02-2021, called by NCCPA and endorsed by AIBDPA has been observed by almost all circles with good participation in the demonstrations. The 14 point charter of demands of the pensioners, including Pension Revision, Non-paymant of medical benefits, freezing of DR and IDA, for the Protest action certainly have impressed and enthused the pensioners.

In some circles like Tamil Nadu, Assam, the program was organised jointly with other constituents of NCCPA/JAC.

CHQ heartly congratulate the leaders who took the initiative to organise the agitation in their respective circles. CHQ also congratulate and salute the pensioners participated in the programme of action enthusiastically and made it a grand success.

MAKE THE PROTEST DAY ON 01-02-2021 A STUPENDOUS SUCCESS.

As already been intimated , the Protest Day on 01-02-2021 has to be organised by all the units of AIBDPA, jointly with other organisations, wherever possible. It is better to have a uniform in the form of action; be it a demonnstration from 1030 to 1130 in front of the offices. Please take care to maintain the Covid-19 protocol.

The leaders who address the demonstration may focus on the 14 point charter of demands of the pensioners, particularly Pension Revision, Freezing of DR, Non-issuance of orders for IDA istalments from 01-10-2020 and 01-01-2021, Non-payment of medical claims and allowances etc.
