The meeting of the AUAB, held on 24.04.2018, has called on the employees to conduct powerful street corner meetings from 07th to 11th May, 2018, against the anti-BSNL policies of the government and demanding the rolling back of the Subsidiary Tower Company. The AUAB has issued a joint circular, requesting the employees to conduct the programme effectively, giving guidelines for the programme.

AUAB has demanded meeting with the Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications and the Secretary, DoT, to review the action taken on the issues of wage revision, pension revision, left out issues of 2ndPRC, payment of pension contribution on actual basic pay, rolling back of the Subsidiary Tower Company, etc.

BSNL CORPORATE OFFICE HAS ISSUED ORDER FOR RELEASING QUARTERLY MEDICAL ALLOWANCE TO THE RETIREES FOR THE REMAINING TWO QUARTERS OF 2017-18.

AIBDPA has been pursuing with the management to issue the orders for extending the quarterly medical allowance  (without voucher) beyond the two quarters of the financial year 2017-18. A detailed letter was also written in this regard narrating the difficulties being experienced by the retirees due to the uncertainity. BSNLEU had also taken up the issue and a decision also taken for an agitation on 03-05-2018 in this regard. Due to these pressures, the management has now issued the order for extending the quarterly medical allowance for two more instalments.

TAMLUK BRANCH CONFERENCE UNDER KHARAGPUR DISTRICT HELD.

The first Tamluk Branch conference was held at Panskura  Bandhan hall on 22-04-2018. Com.Susanta Ghosh, CHQ Vice President and Circle President formally inaugurated with a detailed speech. Com.S.Acharjee, Branch Secretary welcomed and presented the report. Com.Pijush Chakraborty, Circle Secretary addressed replying to the discussion.

Coms.A.C.Jana, S.Acharjee and B.P.Bhowmick were elected as President, Secretary and Treasurer , respectively.

CHENNAI DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD BEFITTINGLY.

The 4th biennial District Conference of Chennai under Tamil Nadu Circle has been held befittingly at Tamil Nadu Government Servants Union Office on 21-04-2018 under the presidentship of Com. S.Nataraja, District President. Com.T.Kothandam, District Secretary welcomed the gathering. Com.C.K.Narasimhan, Circle Secretary inaugurated the conference with an elaborate speech on the issues. Com.P.Manickamurthy ,Circle President delivered the keynote address. Coms. B.C.Geetha, Circle Organising Secretary, M.Murugaiah, Assistant Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, G.Kaliya Perumal, District Secretary, AIBSNLEA, and M.R.Meenakshisundaram, District Secretary, AIPRPA greeted the conference. The biennial report and audited accounts presented by Com.T.Kothandam and N.Sairam, Treasurer were adopted after discussion.

Office bearers have been elected unanimously and the following are the important functionaries;

Com.M.A.Rajagopal, Municipal Chairman inaugurated the Punalur Area Conference on 08-04-2018. Com.P.K.Venugopal was in the chair.Com.R.R.Aravindakshan Nair, CHQ Treasurer and Circle President delivered the keynote address. Com.N.Sasidharan Nair, District Secretary presented the organisational report. Com.G.Babu, Area Secretary welcomed all the participants.

CHALAKKUDI AND IRINJALAKUDA AREA CONFERENCES.

CHALAKKUDI.

The area conference of Chalakkudi was held at the Block Panjayath Hall, Chalakkudi on 21-04-2018. Com.N.Guruprasad, Circle Secretary inaugurated and explained the issues in detail. Com.K.K.Gopi presided and Coms. P.M.Gopalakrishnan, District Secretary, S.K.Gopalan, Circle Vice President and P.G.Vasudevan, District Vice President addressed. Com.O.S.Madhavan earlier welcomed all the participants. The report presented by Com.A.Prabhakaran, Area Secretary was adopted after discussion.

Coms.K.K.Gopi and A Prabhakaran have been relected as President and Secretary, respectively.

IRINJALAKUDA.

Irinjalakuda Area Conference also was held on 21st April, 2018 at Hindi Prachara Sabha hall under the presidentship of Com.K.P.Premdas. Com. N.Guruprasad, Circle Secretary delivered the inaugural address. Coms.P.M.Gopalakrishnan, District Secretary, P.G.Vasudevan, and P.G.Prakasan also addressed the conference.

DPE HAS REPLIED TO DOT ON EXPECTED LINES FOR WAGE REVISION IN BSNL.

 

Department of Public Enterprises has replied to the DOT letter on wage revision of BSNL employees as per 3rd PRC recommendations. The letter dated 18-04-2018 is only on the expected lines;

” BSNL does not fall under the category mentioned in para 5 DPE’s OM dated 03-08-2017 on 2017 pay revision. Further, it is mentioned that DPE has issued guidelines for 2017 pay revision which inter-alia includes an affordability clause, based on the recommendations of Committee of Secretaries (CoS) on the report of 3rd PRC. Any relaxation in the extant guidlines would require the approval of the Cabinet for whch DoT may examine the issue at their end for necessary action. “
