Com.K.G.jayaraj, General Secretary has met Shri. S.K.Sinha, PGM (Admn) on 21-05-2018 and had a detailed discussion on BSNL MRS and the difficulties being faced by the retirees. He pointed out that some of the retirees, particularly from remote areas could not submit option to avail the restored quarterly medical allowance due to lack of communication. In such cases necessary directives may have to be issued by the Corporate Office to give them another chance to exercise the option. Also those who have retired subsequently are not being given an opportunity to give option. A letter in this regard was handed over to him.

General Secretary also asked the PGM about extending the quarterly medical allowance beyond the year 2017-18 and he has replied that the same is under process.

The demand of AIBDPA for monthly medical allowance of Rs.2000 was raised during the discussion. General Secretary pointed out that if it is made uniform to all, much confusion and complication of the present criteria and the discrimination to the pre 2007 retirees could be avoided . The PGM had a patient hearing and replied that these will be considered.
