The sixth membership verification to elect the recognised majority union has been held today,the 16th April,2013 throughout the country,peacefully.BSNL EMPLOYEES UNION had won all the four membership verifications except the first one which was won by NFTE.
Reports,initially recived from various circles indicate that the United Front led by BSNLEU is all set to retain the status of the biggest union with improved majority.
The result will be declared on 18th April,2013.

Com.K.G.Jayaraj,General Secretary has met Shri.K.C.G.K.Pillai,Director(Finance)BSNL on 9th April,2013 and discussed the following issues.

• 1.Restoration of medical allowance.

  The Director stated that though he is sympathetic to the plight of the pensioners in this regard,he cannot commit due to the
  financial constrains of BSNL.

• 2.Anomoly in pension.

  The issue is being reprocessed by the DOT and the particulars sought by DOT will be furnished as early as possible.

• 3.Anomoly of senior getting less than junior.

  General Secretary urged to implement the joint committee report on the issue without furthur delay to which the Director responded positively.

• 4.Non processing of pension revision on upgradation after NEPP by CCA,Rajasthan due to dispute of pension contribution.
  The Director(Finance) agreed to intervene and necessary insructions will be issued to the BSNL,Rajasthan Circle.

All the CHQ Office bearers,Circle Secretaries and District Secretaries are requested to ensure that the decision of the All India Conference to submit the Charter of Demands(included in the circular No.01/2013) at Circle and SSA levels on 18 th April,2013 is implemented.At Circle level the charter of demands be submitted to both the CGMT and CCA.

Shri.M.F.Farooqui,Senior IAS Officer will be the new Secretary,Department of Telecom.
Mr.Farooqui is currently Secretary in the department of heavy industry is to replace Shri.R.Chadrasekhar,who retires at the end of this month.
Mr.Farooqui is a Tamil Nadu cadre IAS Officer of 1978 batch and will have a15 month tenure as DOT Secretary before he retires on superannuation.
