Rajyasabha also has passed the draconian PFRDA bill on 6th September.
The left parties,as in the Loksabha stoutly opposed the bill and voted against.
The trinamool Congress was the only other party to oppose.
It was an easy process for the UPA government as the main opposition party
gleefully supported the bill.
As reported,the Loksabha had already approved the bill on 4th September
2013.
Now,the only formality left is the approval of the President after which the bill.will become the law of the country.

The Congress led UPA government managed to pass the Pension Fund
Reulatory and Development. Authority Bill,2011 in the Loksabha with
the support of the main opposition party,the BJP.
THE LEFT PARTIES OPPOSED THE BILL STRONGLY AND AMENDMENTS
PRESENTED BY COM.BASUDEB ACHARYA,LEADER OF CPI(M) IN
LOKSABHA WAS REJECTED BY VOTING AND VOICE VOTE.
Trinamool congress also opposed and other opportunist regional
parties supported the bill.
The BJP has once again proved beyond any doubt that they are also
for the implementation of neo liberal economic policies and they do
not have any difference with the Congress in this regard.
The draconian bill is the death bell for the statutory defined pension
scheme,the most social security scheme available in the country.
PFRDA bill was mooted by the BJP led NDA government in 2003,but
could not pass it due to stiff opposition of workers
During the period of the UPA1 government the left parties which
supported the government from outside never allowed Manmohan
Singh to pass the bill.
IT IS A BIG AND CRUEL ATTACK ON THE WORKERS AND THE PENSIONERS.

introduction of PFRDA Bill in the Loksabha.

The central government is planning to reintroduce the PFRDA bill in the
Parliament probably on 02-09-2013 or on subsequent days of this week.
Whenever it is again presented in the Parliament.we should protest and
Demonstration be conducted at circle/district levels preferrably jointly
with other pensioners organisations to register our strong protest against
the draconiian bill.

In the first quarter of the current fiscal year,April-June,2013,the
GDP (Gross Domestic Product ) growth has.decelerated furthur
to 4.4 per cent.
This is the slowest pace of expansion since the financial crisis in
2008..GDP Growth was 5.4 per cent in the first quarter of the last
financial year.
It is a steady slide in economic growth as the GDP growth had
slided to. 4.8 per cent in last quarter of the last fiscal.
The depreciation of the rupee had alarminly gone down to
68.85 against the dollar and the central government could not
give a convincing explanation.Insted,the finance minister P.
Chidambaram and Reserve Bank Governor Subba Rao are engaged
in a blame game.
The vast majority of the people,the common and poor are the worst
sufferers and still Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and finance
Minister Chidambaram shamelessly declare that they will go ahead
with more strigent economic reforms!

BSNL and DOT Pensioners will be sitting on Dharna on 29th August 2013 at SSA/Circle levels demanding settlement of their long pending issues. The dharna is being organised as per the call of All India BSNL-DOT Pensioners Association(AIBDPA). The demands include pension revision with 78.2% IDA revision to both pre-2007 as also post-2007 retirees, increase in Medical Allowance and other demands already brought to the notice of the BSNL Management and DOT.
The 78.2% IDA Pension revision has been included as an important item in the Charter of Demands of BSNLEU and United Forum of BSNL Unions, which have called for one day strike on 27th September.
All the SSA/Circle Units are requested to participate in the dharna in a massive way.
