The BSNL management has held a discussion with United Forum of BSNL
Unions on 17th September,2013 on the 30 point demands put forward for
the strike on 27th September Strike.
The discussion started at 1500 hrs and continueed upto 1900 hrs.Still only
8 items could be discussed.Though the demand of 78.2% IDA fixatioon to
pensioners was listed at 30,this was discussed on priority basis at the
insistence of the leaders..The leaders minced no words in criticising the
BSNL management for the most discriminatory clarification given to DOT
regarding extending the bbenefit of 78.2% IDA fixation to those retired
between 01-01-2007 and 09-06-2013.They pointed out that the portion in
the DOT order dated 10-06-2013 “No arrears would be paid” has created
problem in regulating the pay and revise the pension to those retired after
01-01-2007 and strongly demanded that the BSNL management should
take up the issue with DOT. For cancellation of this clause.
The next round of discussion is slated on 4th October,2013 since the
Director (HR),Shri.A.N.Rrai will be out of station during the intervenig
period.

Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri,President,BSNLEU and Advisor,AIBDPA has
pursued the issue of 78.2% IDA fixation to the pensioners with the
newly posted Member (Finance) Ms.Annie Moraes on today..Com.Namboodiri
apprised her that the matter of issuing orders for extending the benefit
of 78.2% IDA fixation to the BSNL pensioners is pending with the DOT
for the last two months and urged early action.
The Member (Finance) assured that she will look into the matter
seriosly and do the needful for early settlement of the issue

Yesterday Com.K.G.Jayaraj,General Secretary had a discussion on the
issue with Shri.Prachish Khanna,Director(Establishment) DOT who had
stated that the proposal to revise the pension of both pre and post 2007
BSNL pensioers with 78.2% IDA fixation is being processed and the
file is with the Finanve section in DOT

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has proposed drastic cut in
base price of spectrum for the next round of spectrum auction.
The reduction in the reserve prices proposed go to the extent of
81.38 per cent.
It recommended an about 60 per cent cut in the pan India reserve price
for the third round of 2G spectrum (1800 MHz )auctions compared to
its previous suggestions.
The entire spectrum freed from the cancelllation of 122 licences in
February,20012 in the 2G spectrum allocation case has to be auctioned.
The proposal to slash the combined spectrum auction reserve price in
the premium 900 MHz band in the circles of Delhi,Mumbai and
Kolkata by about 79 per cent to Rs.650 crore per MHz against Rs.3074.18
per MHz earlier.
The proposal of the TRAI to slash the base price will certainly benefit
the private telecom companies.

The Comptroller And Auditor General has reported yet anothher
major scam of the UPA government.
This time it is the forestland scam.
In this massive scam thousands of acres of forestlands are being
given away to the industry without following laid down regulations
and even in violation of Supreme Court orders and forest laws.
The report furthur states that this unlawful dealings involve large-
scale misuse of funds leading to a loss to the government running
into thousands of crores.
The report is on the policy of compensatory afforestation-handing
over forestlands for development and industtrial projects in exchange
for forests being grown on alternative lands and collection of net present
value of the diverted lands from the industries.
The report was laid before the Parliament on 6th September,2013.
