• Com. V A N Namboodiri, Advisor and Com. K G Jayaraj, General Secretary have met Shri. P K Purwar, the new CMD, BSNL on 15-07-2019. 

They congratulated the CMD for his appointment and wished him all success.

The represetatives brought to his notice about the miserable plight of the retirees due to non payment of medical claims both indoor and outdoor and the quarterly medical allowance without voucher for the last 10 to 12 months. A letter in this regard was handed over to him.

The CMD stated that he is sympathetic on the issue but drew the attention to the acute financial situation of BSNL incurring a deficit of Rs. 1000 crore every month. He also pointed out that BSNL cannot afford to the BSNL MRS in the wake of severe financial crisis and may have to evolve another affordable scheme. He requested the represetatives to advise the retirees to switch over to CGHS where ever possible.

However efforts will be made to allot some funds for clearing the pending claims both with voucher and without voucher subject to the improvement of the financial position.
