BURDWAN DISTRICT ORGANISED SIT-IN DEMONSTRATION ON 08-03-2017.

Burdwan District Branch in West Bengal conducted an impressive sit-in demonstration before the office of the General Manager, BSNL on 08-03-2017 demanding settlement of 7 point charter of demands, including undue delay in payment of medical bills and processing of 78.2% IDA fixation cases. CORTO members also participated. The massive demonstration compelled the authorities to discuss the issue and settle. DGM held discussion with association leaders and came to a reasonable agreement. The powerful and continuous demonstration started at 10AM was concluded at 4.30PM successfully.

It is again proved that the path of struggle only would help settle the issues.

FREE NIGHT CALLING FACILITY EXTENDED TO BSNL PENSIONERS.

One of our demands has been met partially. Free night calling facility introduced by BSNL to the land line subscribers was demanded to be extended to BSNL and DoT retirees. But, as in the case of boadband concession, it is only extended to BSNL pensioners. BSNLEU also had demanded to extend the facility to the employees and retirees of BSNL(view the order.PHA Free Night calling )

Pension revision of BSNL pensioners would be done on time – Assures Member (Services), DoT.

 

BSNLEU has already written to the Member (Services), DoT, that the revision of pension of BSNL pensioners should be done on time. Com. P. Abhimanyu, GS and com. Swapan Chakraborty, Dy.GS, met shri R.K. Mishra, Member (Services), today, and discussed this issue. The representatives pointed out that pension revision of BSNL pensioners should not be delayed this time, as it was done last time. The Member (Services), replied that the DoT is seized of the matter and that they have already initiated steps in this regard. The Member (Services) also assured that the pension revision, w.e.f. 01.01.2017, in respect of BSNL pensioners would be done on time.

SOLIDARITY TO CONFEDERATION STRIKE ON 16-03-2016.

As already published in this website, the central government employees are going for a one day strike on 16-03-2017 under the banner of Confederation against negative and treacherous stand of the central government on implementation of modifications sought on 7th Pay Commission recommendations and assurances given by the group of ministers in this regard.

NCCPA has given a call to organise solidarity programme by the affiliated pensioners organisations at state capitals. The relevant portion of the circular of NCCPA is reproduced below for prompt compliance.

“In the meantime as you are aware the CGEs under the banner of Confederation will be on Strike on 16.03.2017 inter alia  raising  the issue of Option No.1 and NPS. We must express our solidarity and support to the striking workers. We may suggest that in all state capitals the affiliates of NCCPA may jointly organise demonstration in front of an identified Central Government office by wearing badges with the following demands inscribed. “

WOMENS DAY OBSERVED BY VELLORE DISTRICT BRANCH.

The International Womens’ Day has been observed by Vellore District Branch by holding a meeting with good participation of women members on 08-03-2017.

Com.V.Elumalai, District President presided over the meeting. Com.Jothisudanthiranathan, District Secretary welcomed the gathering. Com.Kumar (CITU) addressed explaining the importance of the Day and Dr.Pravena, Acupuncture Physician, gave some valuable health tips.
