New Telecom Policy – ‘One Nation, One Licence’

The New Telecom Policy expected to be finalised by the end of this year may change the Licence system for telecom services in the country. This was stated by Ms Aruna Sunderarajan, Secretary DOT. Earlier, the licences were granted on bid for each circles separately. This was the requirement of the private companies since they did not have services in all the circles. But BSNL was compelled to purchase spectrum in all circles at the maximum bid rate in each circle, whether required or not. While private companies paid only Rs. 3000 – 6000 crores for selected circles, BSNL was compelled to pay an amount of Rs. 18,500 crore.

Now the major telcos are providing service in most of the circles. If they have to bid by circle to circle and pay for all circles, it will be a good amount as paid by BSNL earlier. Hence it is to reduce that burden on the private companies that the All India licence is being thought of giving a new slogan ‘One India, One Licence’.

It is exposed that the policy decisions are taken by the government in the telecom sector always giving priority to the private companies. Already the government is in the processing of reducing the ADC, USOF etc. charges to be paid by the private companies as demanded by the them.

WFTU TUI PENSIONERS AND RETIREES CALL FOR THE OCTOBER 1ST, 2017: INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FIGHT FOR PENSIONERS’ RIGHTS

Capitalism is pushing new anti-worker measures against pensioners, the working class and the people. The solutions that governments-administrators use are temporary and weak, without perspective or positive exit for those who with their work produce wealth in society and only give benefit to a handful of capitalists who collect, to an immense extent, the fruits of the exploitation.
The measures taken by the leaders of capitalist development, with the competitiveness of capitalists as its motor, require new sacrifices on the part of the working class, pensioners and the people, greater exploitation, and the elimination of all remaining rights. Greater limitation and abolition of public social care for the benefit of the private, annulment of collective agreements and extra payments to pensioners; in addition, to a further reduction of costs for health, medicines, and social benefits.

All this is complemented by new concessions to the big capital, through privatizations, of important sectors of the economy, in energy, transport, water, natural resources, and new tax exemptions.
In the name of capitalist competitiveness, pensioners and retirees throughout the world are experiencing the worsening of their lives and the lives of their children. Their pensions are cut, health benefits are reduced and privatized, social structures dissolve, their rights are generally restricted.

To achieve these objectives, capital does not hesitate to resort to bloody conflicts and wars throughout the world, in which it violently appropriates the wealth of many people of the planet.
We call for the action of all our organizations and friendly organizations, for the next October 1st, international Day of Pensioners, with demands that correspond to our true needs, having as perspective of our struggle a society without exploitation, poverty, wars, nor calamities. We will fight with unity and common action with the working class, the people, and all those who suffer capitalist exploitation.

We strive in this direction: For free and public social security, medical care and pharmaceutical assistance for all, without conditions or requirements. We will claim the right to public and enough pensions, reducing the age limit for men, and setting them earlier for women. Pensions must meet our current needs, so we may live a life with dignity. For social benefits, housing, clean water and leisure, public, free and quality.

WE ARE NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CRUMBS THAT THE CAPITALIST BARBARITY GIVES.

WE FIGHT TO CONQUER LIFE AND FUTURE IN A SOCIETY WITHOUT EXPLOITATION, BASED ON THE RICHES WE PRODUCE.

LONG LIVE TO INTERNATIONAL WORKER SOLIDARITY

LONG LIVE TO THE OCTOBER 1st FIGHTING DAY

CENTRAL DA TO BE INCREASED BY 1% AND THE TOTAL DA FROM 01-07-2017 WILL BE 5%

AICPIN for June 2017 confirmed 1% DA Hike from July 2017

The 2 point increase in the AICPIN for the Month of June 2017  has almost confirmed the DA hike to be announced from July 2017 by the Union Cabinet. Labour Bureau has released the CPI for Industrial workers for the month of June 2017 yesterday. According to its press release,  the AICPIN  increased by 2 points and Pegged at 280. With that CPI Point, the Average AICPIN for 12 Months from July 2016 to June 2017  is 276.92. It increases the total DA from 4% to 5.93% . But due to the practice of ignoring the fractions from the figure  arrived through the DA calculation, the existing 4% DA will be increased to 5% only from July 2017 . The DA will be announced by the Union cabinet  in the first week of September 2017

No Gas subsidy in future – Anti-people decision of Central Government

Petrol and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has stated in Parliament on 31-07-2017 that the subsidy for the cooking gas will be completely eliminated by March, 2018. Accordingly the subsidy will be reduced by Rs. 4 every month, till the entire subsidy is eliminated. LPG subsidy has already been reduced. This will seriously and adversely affect the common people and increase the profit of the oil companies, especially Reliance.
Of course, government is for the corporates!

ONE THIRD VALUE OF BSNL’S LANDS VALUED AT Rs.65,000 CRORE.

One third of BSNL’s lands valued at Rs.65,000 crore.

The book value of BSNL’s landed properties are pegged at Rs.975 crore. However, the recent valuation of BSNL’s landed properties reveal that, the value of one third of BSNL’s landed properties alone come to Rs.65,000 crore. These one third landed properties are located in the major cities of the country. The land at New Delhi in which the Corporate Office is located alone is valued at Rs.2,500 crore. This valuation was done as per the new “Indian Accounting Standard”, for which the consultant KPMG was engaged by BSNL.  This information was disclosed to the PTI by shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL.

Privatisation of PSUs means handing over these large tracts of land of the PSUs to the private corporates for real estate purposes. According to the government, the entire BSNL’s assets are worth only Rs. 975 crores and the selling price will be with this calculation. The corporates will reap huge profit. And this is the way of allowing the corporates to loot the PSUs, the wealth of the country.

But one thing. The united force of the BSNL workers will fight to the last against any privatisation of BSNL! The government could not implement disinvestment in BSNL so far, they could not implement VRS and unbundling of copper cables. If the workers stand united, it will be not easy for the government to implement their anti-national designs.

AT LAST THE SOLDIERS ALSO COMPELLED TO CONDEMN THE ATTACK ON DALITS AND MUSLIMS.

Military veterans write to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, condemning attacks on Muslims and Dalits.

More than 100 officers, who had retired from the Army, Air-force and Navy have written a letter to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, condemning the attacks on Dalits and Muslims, in the name of protecting cows. In the letter they have stated that, they were witness to unprecedented attacks on society at large by the relentless vigilantism of self appointed protectors of Hinduism. Muslims and Dalits have been the worst hit by cow vigilantism, they have stated. The letter has also expressed concern over the climate of fear and suppression of dissent. It is very significant that more than 100 retired officers of the armed forces, who may be belonging to different religions, have raised their voice against the killings that are taking place in the name of “cow vigilantism”.
