The 5th biennial District Conference of Durgapur, West Bengal was held on 10-04-2021. Com.Sushanta Chatterjee, Secretary , Syate Government Pensioners Association. Com.Pijush Chakraborty, Circle Secretary delivered the keynote address and covered the issues of pensioners, recent developments in the country and the significance of elections to the five state legislatives, including West Bengal.

The report and accounts presented by Coms,Dhananjay Ganguly and D P Mukharjee were adopted after discussion. Com.B B Shyamal, District President controlled the proceedings.

Coms. B B Shyamal, Dhananjay Ganguly and D P Mukherjee were elected President, Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

Com. Pijush Chakraborty, Circle Secretary inaugurated the 5th biennial District Conference of Suri at Bolpur on 11-04-2021. He gave a good account of developments in the recent past in respect of issues of pensioners, the struggles being waged by AIBDPA, political situation in the country and the role of pensioners in the ongoing elections.

Com.Madan Mohan Ghosh and Ajit Kumar Basu placed the report and accounts and passed after discussion. The presidium consisting of Coms. Debdas Chakraborty, Lakshman Das and Asish Mukherjee controlled the proceedings. Six veteran comrades who have crossed 80 years were felicitated with bouquet, shawl and umbrella.

Office bearers were elected unanimously with Coms. Debdas Chakraborty (President), Madan Mohan Ghosh (Secretary) and Tapan Biswas (Treasurer).

An Open session was also held in which a host of leaders including Coms. Animesh Mitra, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Pijush Chakraborty, Circle Secretary, Dipankar Chakraborty (CITU) , Netal Prasad Ghosh, Joint Convenor, Yuktamancha and Jaharlal Jana, Joint Convenor, 12th July Committee addressed.

RECEPTION COMMITTEE OF 3RD AIC DONATED Rs.2 LAKH TO CHQ.

West Bengal comrades, the Circle Branches of Kolkata Telephones, West Bangal, Telecom Factory & Stores, Kolkata and our strong affiliate, CORTO took up the responsibility of holding the 3rd triennial All India Conference at Kolkata braving the peculiar, rather adverse conditions prevailed in West Bengal. There were serious concerns about the successfull conduct of the conference and the Reception Committee faced certain challenges in the form of denial of accommodation in the last minute. However, our comrades rose to the occasion and overcame all these challenges and made the AIC a historic success.

Now, the Reception Committee has finalised the accounts and has donated Rs. 2,00,000 to the CHQ from the surplus on 29-03-2021. CHQ heartily congratulates and thanks the Reception Committee for completing the accounts and donating Rs.2 lakh to CHQ.

PENSIONERS’ GUEST HOUSE OPENED AT GUWAHATI- CONGRATULATIONS.

It is good news- A Pensioners’ Guest House has been opened at CTO Compound, Panbazar, Guwahati, a prime location in the capital city of Assam. It may be the first in the country, a separate Guest House for the pensioners. AIBDPA, Assam Circle Branch had been pursuing the issue for the last nine years; hearty congratulations to Assam Circle Branch for this ideal acheivement.

Shri.G K Chin, Additional Controller General of Communication Accounts, DoT, New Delhi formally inaugurated the Pensioners’ Guest House on 19-03-2021. Ms. B B Shabang, CCA, Assam presided over the function. Coms. M R Das (AGS), S N Sarma (Circle Secretary) Rahman (District Secretary, Guwahati) etc participated on behalf of AIBDPA.
