The new office for Tamil Nadu Circle has started functioning at Chennai on 30-01-2024. It was a long cherished desire of Tamil Nadu comrades to have its own office accommodation in Chennai. The joint forum of trade unions and farmers bodies has given a call for a nationwide general strike and Grameen Bandh (rural close down) on February 16,2024 to protest against the anti-worker, anti-farmer and anti-national policies of the central government. The Joint forum is pressing for the demands which include higher minimum (crop MSP) support price, minimum wage of Rs 26,000 per month for workers, repeal of four labour codes, repeal amendments made to IPC/CrPC, guaranteed employment as fundamental right.
BSNL Employees Union has decided to join the strike for settlement of the important demands including wage revision, and pension revision. So all the AIBDPA units are requested to extend full cooperation at all levels and participate in the campaign programmes so that the strike is made most successful.
