CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS FOR ANOTHER TWO DAY STRIKE
The National Convention of workers under the aegis of Central Trade Unions and Independent Federations held at Mavlankar Hall, New Delhi on 28-09-2018 has decided for a two day strike on 8th&9th January, 2019. A resolution adopted by the convention stated that the NDA government did not bother even for the slightest change in their pro-corporate neo liberal policies after the three day Maha Dharna in November,2017 participated by lakhs of workers. The resolution pin pointed the drastic amendments being made in the hard fought earned labour laws and privatisation of PSUs. The convention was addressed by all leaders of the Central Trade Unions including Com.Tapansen MP, General Secretary, CITU.
AIBDPA fully supports the decision and calls upon all its units to organize solidarity demonstration on 08-01-2019.
ALAPPUZHA AREA BRANCH CONFERENCE HELD.
The Area Branch Conference was held at BSNLEU hall, Alappuzha on 27-09-2018 under the presidentship of Com.P.G.Jayakumar, President. Com. K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary inaugurated the conference explaining the important issues of pension revision and delay in payment of medical allowance and with voucher bills. Coms. N.Guruprasad, Circle Secretary and P.Surendran, District Secretary also addressed. Com.T.Sobhanan, Area Secretary welcomed all and presented the report and audited accounts.
A new set of office bearers with Com.P.G.Jayakumar (President) and T.Sobhanan (Secretary) were elected unanimously.
INDIA RANKS 158TH BEHIND SUDAN
The first ever scientific study ranking countries for their investment in education and health care has given India ,158th rank between Namibia and Sudan.
US is at 24 th rank and China 44. Sri Lanka 102, Maldives-116 and Bhutan-133.
MUKESH AMBANI IS FAR AHEAD
Thanks to the Indian ruling class, Mukesh Ambani has a declared assets of ₹3,71,000 crore according to the Barclays Harun India Rich List, 2018.
There are 831 Indians having a net worth of ₹.1000 crore or more compared to 617 last year and the credit goes to the BJP government. S.P.Hinduja is second with a net worth of ₹.1,59,000. L.N.Mittal- ₹.1,14,500, Azim Premji- ₹. 96,000 and Dilip Shanghvi- ₹.89,700.

INTEREST RATES OF SMALL SAVING SCHEMES SLIGHTLY INCREASED FROM 01-10-2018
Department of Economic Affairs has revised the rates of interest on various small savings schemes for the third quarter of financial year 2018-19 starting 1st October, 2018, and ending on 31st December, 2018.

Subject: Revision of interest rates for Small Savings Schemes.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s OM of even number dated 16th February, 2016, vide which the various decisions taken by the Government regarding interest fixation for small savings schemes were communicated to all concerned.
2. On the basis of the decision of the Government, interest rates for small savings schemes are to be notified on quarterly basis. Accordingly, the rates of interest on various small savings schemes for the third quarter of financial year 2018-19 starting 1st October, 2018, and ending on 31st December, 2018, on the basis of the interest compounding/payment built-in in the schemes, shall be as under:

BSNL at your door steps” – kick started.
“BSNL at your door steps” was inaugurateon 24-09-2018 in the BSNL Corporate Office, by Mary Kome, the Brand Ambassador of BSNL. Leaders of the Unions and Associations, including Com.P. Abhimanyu, GS, BSNLEU, Com. Chandeshwar Singh, GS, NFTE, Com. K. Sebastin, GS, SNEA, Com. Prahlad Rai, GS, AIBSNLEA and Com. Ravi Shil Verma, GS, AIGETOA were present on the occasion. From the Management Side, Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL, other Directors of BSNL Board and Chief General Managers of all the circles were present.
“BSNL at your door steps” is the brain child of the AUAB. It has been planned to increase the revenue collection of the Company, which has started sinking, due to the ongoing price-war. According to the decision of AUAB, each and every Non-Executive and Executive should participate in sales and marketing activities, by going to the door steps of the public.

Notional Increment for June 30th Retirees – Honorable Supreme Court dismissed SLP
A special Leave Petition was filed in Hon’ble Supreme Court against the Order passed by the Hon’ble High Court of Madras in the matter of granting one notional Increment for Pensionary benefits to a Government servant who superannuated on 30th June . The Hon’ble Supreme Court has dismissed the SLP.

The Circle executive committee meeting of AP Circle was held on 23/09/2018 at Youth Hostel, New Balajinagar , Tirupati.The Circle president Com.M.Yacob in his opening remarks gave detailed information on the status of wage revision and pension revision in BSNL and the struggles conducted by AIBDPA in co-ordination with BSNLEU and AUAB.The open session was addressed by Com.G.Venkatesh, Secretary,TTD staff & workers Federation, Com. Prasada Rao, CITU leader, Sri Y.V.Narayana, Ex- GM Tirupati ,Sri L.V.Sudhakar, DGM (Admn) Tirupati and Com.K.S.C.Bose CIrcle Secretary. Com.P.Ellaiah, DS AIBDPA Tirupati proposed vote of thanks.
The CEC unanimously approved the activities report submitted by Circle Secretary Com.K.S.C.Bose and Income and Expenditure statement submitted by Treasurer Com M.S.N.Reddy since the last CEC held at Vijayawada. All the District Secretaries and most of the Circle office bearers participated in the discussion on organisation.
The Circle Secretary in his concluding speech explained the task of making the calls of CEC Jalgaon successful and to strengthen the organisation. All the CEC members appreciated the arrangements made by Tirupati comrades.Com. C.J.Shanmugam proposed vote thanks.
