DOT Pensioners Association will participate in the country-wide Protest
Day  on 23.06.2011 called upon by the
Central Trade Unions against petrol price rise and the proposed price hike of
diesel, kerosene and LPG.

The frequent
price rise of petroleum products is one of the main reasons for overall price
rise of essential commodities.  And, no
doubt, this will put the common people into further miseries who have already
been subjected to a record price rise. 
This is how the UPA government serve the vast majority of common people
while it is lavish in giving away about rupees three lakhs crores to the
Corporates by means of tax concessions and other economic benefits.

The agitation
against price rise of petroleum products has got more importance in the wake of
CAG’s revelation of close nexus between private petroleum companies and the
higher ups in the central ministry.  In
its draft report, the CAG is reported to have mentioned “undue benefit to
Reliance is huge but can’t be quantified”. 
So yet another scam is going to be exposed and this is the true colour
of central government pursuing the globalization vigorously.

AIBDPA appeals
to all the BSNL DOT Pensioners to join with the working class fraternity in the
country en-masse in the protest demonstration/Dharna at State and District
headquarters on 23.06.2011 and make the programme a big success.

Com.V A N Namboodiri along with other leaders met Shri.S C Misra member services at DOT and CMD,BSNL on 9th June 2011 and discussed the issue of inordinate delay in settling the pension revision cases in all Circles.The leaders pointed out that most of the CCAs have reported staff shortage as the main reason for the slow process.Shri.S C Misra has denied the issue of staff shortage at any circle and assured that all possible steps would be taken to ensure the settlement of pension revision within the time frame stipulated.CMD,BSNL also assured early action in the matter at BSNL level.

AIBDPA Kerala Circle as per the decision of the Circle Executive Committe meeting launched CGMT/CCA office march on 8th June 2011 demanding early payment of pension revision benifits to both pre -2007 and post -2007retirees.The CGMT/CCA office march at Thiruvananthapuram was inagurated by Com.P V Chandrasekharan,All India Patron.Com.K.Mohanan Circle Secretary BSNLEU addressed the  march among other leaders.Com.K G Jayaraj Genl.Secy inagurated the march at   PGMT(O),Ernakulam.So also Com.N.Remesan Circle Secretary, AIBDPA at Trichur.The march was conducted in all SSAs of Kerala Circle and pensioners in every SSA made it a big success with their massive participation.
