78.2% IDA MERGER-EXPENDITURE DEPT RAISES FRESH ISSUE.

Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary has contacted the Department of Expenditure on 31st August and has learnt that they are proposing to seek cabinet approval for 78.2% IDA merger for those retired between 01-01-2007 and 09-06-2013 also. According to them , the pension paid to BSNL retirees is more than 60% of BSNL payments after 2010 and therefore cabinet approval is necessary. CHQ is trying to meet the higher officers at the Department of Expenditure to avoid such an eventuality. 

COIMBATORE DISTRICT COFERENCE .

Coimbatore District Conference was held on 29th July, 2014 and a large number of pensioners participated. Com.K. Murugan presided over the meeting which was inaugurated by Com. C. K. Narasimhan, Circle Secretary. Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary, Com. K. Kaliprasad & Com. K. Arumugam, CHQ Org. Secretaries, Com. S. Mohandoss, CHQ Vice President & Circle President, Com. C. Rajendran, District Secretary, BSNLEU, Com Presannan, District Secretary, SNEA and Com. Ravi, District Secretary, TNTCWU addressed the conference. Com, L. Umapathy, Dist Secretary presented the biennial report and accounts and passed after discussion.

Office bearers were elected unanimously with Com. V. Subramoniyam (President) Com. L. Umapathy (Dist.Secretary) and Com. Makaliappan (Treasurer)

COIMBATORE CEC’S CALL TO SUPPORT THE AGITATIONS OF JAC & BSNL CCWF.

Coimbatore CEC has decided to call upon all its units to support the agitations of JAC of Non Executives Unions of BSNL on pending issues starting with Demands Day on 07-08-2014. The Casual Contract Workers Federation has decided  to conduct a phased programme of action,  to achieve their genuine demands, as follows;

1. Dharna  at SSA level on 26-08-2014.

2. March to CGMT office on 25-09-2014

3.March to CMD office on 15-10-2014.

 

RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED BY COIMBATORE CEC.

The Coimbatore CEC held on 29th & 30th July, 2014 had nominated a resolution committee comprising Com. P. Asokababu,Vice President, Com. Susanta Ghosh, Vice President and Com. M. R. Das, AGS. They presented resolutions on the following issues and were adopted unanimously.

1. Pending issues including 78.2% IDA merger, restoration of quarterly medical allowance, anomaly in pension, Rs.2500 FMA to DOT pensioners and demands incuded in the memorandum submitted to  the 7th Pay Commission, viz merger of DA in full, 25%  interim relief etc.

2.Scrap PFRDA act.

3. Revival of BSNL in Consultation with the unions.

4. Maintain communal harmony.

5. Stop attacks on trade union workers including BSNLEU, AIBDPA by Trinamool goons in West Bengal.

COMMENDABLE WORK BY RECEPTION COMMITTEE.

The participants in the Coimbatore CEC were all in appreciation for the excellent arrangements made by the Reception Committee led by Com. L. Umapathy, General Convenor and District Secretary, AIBDPA, Coimbatore . There is no second opinion that this was one of the major factors for the spectacular success of the Central Executive Committee held at Coimbatore on 29th & 30th July,2014. In the resolution, adopted by the CEC, the Reception Committee was congratulated and thanked for the sincere and hard work of the Reception Committee comrades of both AIBDPA and BSNLEU.

COM.M.P.KUNHANANDAN IS THE TREASURER

The Coimbatore CEC has nominated, Com. M. P. Kunhanandan, Assistant Circle Secretary, Kerala  as CHQ Treasurer after accepting the resignation of Com. G. B. Salakki

Com. M. P. Kunhanandan, ever since joining duty was an active worker of the union and served in several capacities including Assistant Circle Secretary of Engineering Class III union. After his promotion as JTO, he was elected Circle Organising Secretary of SNEA and continued until his retirement as SDE.  Being a committed comrade, Com. M. P. Kunhanandan had no hesitation to take up the responsibility of Assistant Circle Secretary, AIBDPA, Kerala and now the CHQ Treasurer.

COIMBATORE CEC CONCLUDED WITH CALL FOR SANCHAR BHAWAN MARCH.

The two days Central Executive Committee Meeting held at Coimbatore on 29th & 30th July,2014 has created another milestone in the history of All India BSNL DOT Pensioners Association. The CEC discussed threadbare all the important issues with  seriousness  which helped to take suitable decisions.

The CEC under the presidentship of Com. A. K. Bhattacharjee, President was effectively guided by Com. V. A. N. Namboodiri, Advisor, AIBDPA & President, BSNLEU. The meeting decided to launch another agitational programme, proposed by Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary,  to achieve the genuine demands including, scrapping of PFRDA act, Revival of BSNL, 78.2% IDA merger, Restoration of quarterly medical allowance, Anomaly in pension, merger of DA in full and 25% interim relief.   

The programme is as follows.

1. CAMPAIGN WEEK BY HOLDING DISTRICT LEVEL CONVENSIONS DURING THE LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER,2014.

2. SANCHAR BHAWAN/ BHARAT SANCHAR BHAWAN MARCH IN NOVEMBER, 2014 (EXACT DATE TO BE DECIDED LATER)

ROUSING START TO CEC COIMBATORE

The Central Executtve Committee meeting at Coimbatore started with
a largely attended open Session at 4PM on 29th July,2014.
Com.A.K.Bhattacharjee,President presided. Com.R.Muthusundaram,
General Secretary,All India State Govt. Employees Federation inaugurated
with an effective and educative speech. Com.V.A.N.Nambodiri,President,
BSNLEU and Advisor,AIBDPA,,Com.S.Krishnamoorthy(CITU),Com.K.G.Jayaraj,
General Secretary, Com.S.Chellappa,Circle. Secretary,BSNLEU,Tamilnadu,
Com.K.Govindaraj,Circle Secretary,BSNLEU, Chennai Telephones and Com.
A.Sundaram,General Secretary,Co,ordination Committee of Central,State
and PSU Pensioners Organaisations addressed.
The message received from Com.P.Abimanyu,General Secretary,BSNLEU,
conveying greetings and wishing success to the CEC and assuring continued
support of BSNLEU in settling the issues of pensioners was read out. Com. C. K. Narasimhan, Circle Secretary, Tamilnadu welcomed the gathering and Com. L. Umapathy, General Convenor, Reception Committee proposed vote of thanks.

The subject session was held at 7.30 PM under the presidentship of
Com.A.K.Bhattacharjee in which Com.K.G.Jayaraj,General Secretary
presented the report.The CEC was adjourned at 9.30PM and will
resume at 9AM on 30th instant.

COIMBATORE GEARS UP TO HOST THE CEC OF AIBDPA.

Coimbatore is all set to host the Central Executive Committee Meeting of AIBDPA on 29th & 30 th July, 2014. The reception committee formed with Com. L. Umapathy, as General Convenor is making all out efforts to make the CEC a grand success. The venue of the CEC is Jeevan Jyothi Ashramam, Goods shed Road, Near Railway Station.

The CEC will start with an open session at 4PM on 29th July which will be presided over by Com. A. K. Bhattacharjee, President. Inaugural Address will be delivered by Com. R. Muthusundaram, General Secretary, All India State Government Employees Fedaration. Com. V. A. N. Namboodiri, President, BSNLEU, Com. K. Ragavendran, General Secretary, All India Postal & RMS Pensioners Association, Com. A. Sundaram, General Secretary, Co-ordination Committee of  Central, State & PSU Pensioners Association, Tamilnadu, Com. S. Krishnamoorthy, CITU, Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary, AIBDPA, Com. S. Chellappa, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Tamilnadu, Com. K. Govindaraj, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Chennai Telephones etc will address the open session.

NCCPA NATIONAL EXECUTIVE HELD.

The National Executive Committee Meeting of National Co-ordination Committee of Pensioners Association was held at D-7, Telegraph Place, Gole Market, New Delhi on 25th July, 2014. Com. R. L. Bhattacharjee, President presided. Com. V. A. N. Namboodiri, Advisor, AIBDPA and Patron, NCCPA inaugurated the meeting and gave a detailed account of the foundation congress of TUI (Pensioners & Retirees) held at Barcelona,Spain. Com. S. K. Vyas, Secretary General briefed the meeting on the preliminary interaction had with the 7th Pay Commission on 23rd July, 2014 on  the first part of the memorandum submitted by the BCPC.

After detailed discussion the second part of the memorandum to be submitted to the CPC was finalized.
