The biennial District Conference of Malda was held under the presidentship of Com.Bhudev Majumdar on 21st September,2014. Com.Susanta Ghosh, Circle Secretary and CHQ Vice President inaugurated the conference. He explained in details the 29 point charter of demands identified by the Coimbatore CEC and appealed to make the Sanchar Bhawan March on 20th November a great success.Com.Biplab Das, General Secretary, BSNL CC,Com.Ujjal Ghosh, District Secretary, BSNLEU, Com.Partha Acharjee,District Secretary, CMU, Com.Sunil Saha,SNEA etc addressed the conference.Com.Nirmal Dey, District Secretary and Com. A.B.Sengupta, Treasurer presented the report and audited accounts,respectively. The delegates actively participated in the discussion that followed and Com.Pijush Chakraborty, ACS spoke elaborately,summing up the discussion.There after,the report and accounts were adopted.

The Joint Action Committee of Non Executive BSNL Unions have conducted Mass Dharna in all SSAs,Circles and the Corporate Office on 23rd September,2014 demanding settlement of 30 point charter of demands,including 78.2% IDA merger to BSNL pensioners. There was massive participation every where reflecting the resentment of the workers against lethergic attitude of BSNL management towards their genuine and long standing demands.  

AIBDPA had already given call to support the agitation by participation of pensioners. Com.K.G.Jayaraj,General Secretary participated in the Dharna held at the Corporate Office and addressed. Hundreds of workers from Corporate Office,Ghasiabad,NTR Delhi and Haryana participated enthusiastically in the Dharna. Com. C. Singh, Chairman, JAC presided. The District Conference of Kolkata Central Branch was held on 20th September, 2014 at CTO hall, Kolkata. Com. Nirmalendu Bhadury, District President controlled the proceedings. Com. A. K. Bhattacharjee, CHQ President as well as Circle President inaugurated the conference with his brief but enthusiastic speech. Com.Supriya Mitra, CHQ Vice President and Circle Secretary, Com.Subhasis Roy, Asst.Circle Secretary, BSNLEU and Com.Biplab Das, Secretary, BSNL Co-ordination Committee addressed the conference. Com.Swastika Dasgupta,CHQ Org Secretary and other leaders participated. Com.Biplab Kr Datta, District Secretary presented the biennial report and Com.Samirendu Sarkar,District Treasurer,presented the audited accounts which were passed after discussion.

Com.M.Krishnan, Secretary General, NFPE and Confederation of Central Govt. Employees&Workers was given an enthusiastic felicitation on his retirement from service on superannuation. The function was organised by various organisations at Trivandrum on 18-09-2014 which was inaugurated by Com.Pinarayi Vijayan, State Secretary CPI(M). Com.P.Karunakaran MP and Chairman, NFPE, Kerala presided. Com.Anathalavattom Anandan,State President, CITU, Com.Kadakampally Surendran,District Secretary,CPI(M), Com.V.Sivankutty MLA, Com.P.V.Chandrasekharan,All India Patron,AIBDPA and a host of leaders spoke on the occasion congratulating Com.M.Krishnan for his valuable services. The District level release of the book, ‘P&T Trade Union Movement in Kerala’, penned by Com. P. V. Chandrasekharan was done befittingly at Alappuzha and Kozhikode on 19th September,2014 while observing the 46th anniversary of the great strike of 1968.

ALAPPUZHA: The function was organised jointly by Confederation, NFPE, BSNLEU,AIBDPA,CGPA  and Senior Citizens Friends Association. The venue, BSNLEU hall was jampacked and the meeting started with COm. K. Muraleedharan Nair in the chair. Com. N.Guruprasad welcomed the gathering. Com. C. B. Chandrababu, Dist.Secretary, CPI(M) inaugurated and released the book by handing over the copy to Com. R. Balachandran Nair. Com.C.C.Pillai,former Secretary General,NFPE delivered the keynote address and introduced the book. Com.P.R.Shajimon, Com.Joseph Xavier, Com.K.K.Vijayan,Com.Santhoshkumar and Com.T.X.Zacharia spoke. Com.S.Jatheendran proposed vote of thanks.

 KOZHIKODE: The Postal,RMS unions, BSNLEU and the Pensioners Associations took the initiative and the function was held at the Recreation Club in Head Post Office,Kozhikode. Com.K.G.Sanjeevan presided and Com.K.T.Kunhikannan,Keluettan Study Centre released the book by handing over the copy to Com.K.Chandran. Com.K.Krishnan,Veteran Leader shared the Strike experiences. Com.R.Jainendrakumar welcomed and Com. V. Mohandas thanked.

Thrissur District Conference has been held successfully on 19th September,2014 at Thrissur. Com.P. G. Vasudevan District Vice President presided over the conference. Com. P. M. Gopalakrishnan, District Secretary welcomed all. Com. C. P.
