Kolkata Telephones North District Conference has been held at Cossipur Telephone Exchange Recreation Club, Kolkata on 24th September, 2014. Com .L. N. Bhattacharjee, District President presided over the conference. Com. Anantha Kr Bhattacharjee, CHQ President and Circle President inaugurated the conference. He explained the demands in detail and the present status of the issues. He also appealed to strengthen the organization and make the Sanchar Bhawan March a resounding success. Com. Ashutosh Sen, District Secretary presented the report and Com. Dilip Majumdar placed the audited accounts and were adopted after discussion.

Resolutions on important issues were adopted and office bearers elected unanimously with the following important functionaries.

Com. V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor, Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary, COm.M.P.Kunhanandan,Treasurer and Com.J.N.Mishra,Former President, BSNLEU met Shri.A.N.Rai, CMD, BSNL on today, the 26th September, 2014 and handed over the letter on Sanchar Bhawan/ Bharat Sanchar Bhawan March on 20th November, 2014. Out of the 29 demands identified by the Coimbatore CEC,the following 4 demands were discussed with CMD,which could be settled by BSNL.

1.Restoration of quarterly medical allowance.

2. Extension of broadband concession to DOT retirees.

3. Rent of quarters allotted to retirees be 10% of basic pension

4. Renewal of Identity Card at every 10 years

The response has been positive and the CMD agreed to consider the issues.

A well participated District Convention has been held at Behrampore on 24th September, 2014. The presidium consisting Com.K.D.Biswas, Com.D.P.Moitra, Com.Nimai Ghosh, Com.Sipra Mandal and Com. Mukul Dutta controlled the proceedings. Com.Susanta Ghosh, CHQ Vice President and Circle Secretary, West Bengal inaugurated the convention with powerful presentation of the issues of the pensioners, both BSNL DOT pensioners and the issues presented to the 7th Pay Commission. Com.Pijush Chakraborty, Asst. Circle Secretary, Com.Mamta Sarkar (Circle Org Secretary,BSNLEU), Com.Sanjay Bhattacharjee (AIBSNLEA), Com.Tapan Bhowmick(AIBSNLROA),Com. Pabitra Moitra(NFTEB) and Com. Biswaroop Hazar(BSNLEU) also addressed the convention.  

Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary had a talk with Shri.Vijay Kumar Singh, Director,(Admn), Department of Expenditure on today,the 24th September,2014 regarding the 78.2% IDA merger. He has stated that the file will be cleared and send to DOT within two,three days which is the same reply being given for the last one month. He also confirmed that DOE is proposing cabinet approval for both pre 2007 pensioners and those retired between 01-01-2007 and 09-06-2013.This is nothing but delay tactics being adopted by all the concerned departments,one after another ,may be in connivance with the government.

Let us not be disappointed; but strive to fight it out!  Make all out preparations for the SANCHAR BHAWAN MARCH on 20th November,2014.

Jalpaiguri District Convention was held on 15-09-2014 under the presidentship of Com.Sunil Dev,Distrivct President. Com.R.K.Yadav, Assistant Circle Secretary inaugurated the convention and explained the issues in details and appealed to make the Sanchar Bhawan March a great Success. Com.Prabir Ghosh, District Secretary, BSNLEU,Com.Manik Mukharjee, District Vice President,AIBDPA,Com. Biplabendu Chakraborty, District Treasurer and Com.Mihir Mitra also spoke.

KOLKATA CONVENTION: It was held at the CTO hall on 15-09-2014 and Com.Hirak Sengupta,District President presided, Com.Susanta Ghosh, Circle Secretary, inaugurating the convention spoke descriptively on the issues of pensioners and also the socio-political situation in the country. He also emphasized  the Sanchar Bhawan March, being  organized for the settlement of our genuine demands. Com.Dilip Das, Circle Vice President, Com.Pijush Chakraborty, ACS, Com.P.K.Nandi, District Secretary,Com.Dipankar Majumdar and Com.Biswanath Bhattacharjee also addressed the convention. There was a massive participation in the convention.

Com.P.K.Gurudasan, MLA and CPI(M) Central Committe Member inaugurated the Kollam Conference at K.G.Bose Center,Kollam on 23rd September,2014. Com.V.Sasidharan,Chairman,Reception Committee and District Secretary, CGPA presided over the inaugural session. Com.P.V.Chandrasekharan delivered the keynote address giving a good account of the developments and the issues on which CHQ has decided to conduct Sanchar Bhawan March on 20-11-2014. Com.N.Ramesan, Circle Secretary, Com.R.Aravindakshan Nair  Circle Vice President, Com.C.Muraleedharan Pillai, District Secretary, BSNLEU,Com.N.C.Pillai,AGS,AIPRPA,V.Augustin,District Secretary,SNEA  and Com.K.N.Jyothilakshmi, Asst.Circle Secretary,BSNLEU addressed. Com.M.D.Rajan, District Secretary welcomed the gathering and Com.L.Krishnakumari,Circle Vice President proposed vote of thanks.The subject session held in the afternoon was presided over by Com.Ponnappa Pillai, District President. The biennial report and the audited accounts were presented by Com.M.D.Rajan,District Secretary and G.Sasidharan Pillai,Treasurer,respectively and adopted after discussion

The Circle Executive Committee Meeting of U.P.(West) Circle was held at Muzaffar Nagar Telephone Exchange Premises on 21st September,2014. Com.Uttam Chand Sharma, Circle President presided over the meeting. Com.N.P.Nigam, District Secretary, Muzaffar Nagar welcomed the participants. Com.Abdul Rasheed, Circle Secretary presented the brief report for the interim period and explained the demands on which CHQ has decided to conduct the Sanchar Bhawan March on 20-11-2014. Circle Treasurer presented the accounts and both were adopted after discussion. The present position of 78.2% IDA merger was also reported by the Circle Secretary. The Circle Executive Committee decided to hold the next Circle Conference in February,2015 at Aligarh.

Palakad District biennial conference has been held with huge participation of pensioners on 22nd September,2014. Com.N.Sethumadhavan, District President presided over the conference.Com.M. Chandran, MLA inaugurated the conference with a spirited speech explaining the recent political,trade union developments. Com.V.Kesavan, Circle Patron, Com. N. Ramesan, Circle Secretary, Com.P.R.Parameswaran, District Secretary,BSNLEU, Com.V.Vijayan, Circle Org Secretary,BSNLEU, Com.P.S.Parameswaran, Vice President, NCCPA, Com.M.Velayudhan,NFPE and Com.B.Vijayan,KSSPU adressed the conference

Com. M. Chandran MLA also made the district level release of the book,’P&T TRADE UNION MOVEMENT IN KERALA’,written by Com.P.V.Chandrasekharan.
