LET US PAY HOMAGE TO THE MARTYRS ON THE 46TH ANNIVERSARY OF 19TH SEPTEMBER,1968 STRIKE.

19Tth September, 2014 is being observed as the “Martyrs Day” by all the Central Government Employees organisations as well as the Pensioners Associations to commemorate the heroic sacrifices of the striking workers of 1968 one day strike. The strike called by the Joint Action Committee of Central Government Employees organisations, demanding mainly, need based minimum wage was crushed brutally by the then Indira Gandhi government, killing 13 comrades and victimising thousands of workers and leaders. But the government could not weaken the movement and on the contrary it was grown with more vigour and capacity to launch stronger struggles thereafter.

Let us pay rich tribute to the martyrs and pledge to strenghthen the organisation to meet any onslaught of the ruling class.
