INDEFINITE STRIKE PREPARATIONS

Dear Comrades! As expected the National Joint Council of Action has resolved to intensify the ongoing preparations for indefinite strike from 11th July, 2016. In continuation of yesterday’s massive rally before the Parliament in which more than 20,000 employees and workers from Delhi and surrounding states have participated, the NJCA has met today. In the absence of proper response for any negotiated settlement on the modifications sought by the Staff Side, there is no alternative to the CG Employees Organisations but to go ahead with the strike decision.

NCCPA Secretariat meeting will be held on 27.06.2016 in which NCCPA will decide about the activities of Pensioners in support of the NJCA Strike.

The Phoenix rises again – BSNL is on the revival path

For the past few months BSNL has given more mobile connections than any private company. The new plans like ‘night free calls’ ‘free roaming’ etc. has attracted new customers. The service is also being improved by installing additional towers and new generation equipment. The move is now towards 4G.

The attitude of the workers have changed for the better. At the same time, it can be further improved. ‘Service With A Smile’ is not to be treated as a slogan only, but should be the way of life with BSNL employees.

The Phoenix is rising once again. BSNL Marches ahead!

He also said that now the medical reimbursement also has been made through ERP and the pensioners need not come to the office to submit the bill and can register on line. The delegation replied that only a minority of pensioners will be having net facilities. The particular case of Com.M.L.Tiwari was noted for immediate action by the CGMT.

ONE RANK ONE PENSION GETS DELAYED.

The implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) for retired defence personnel may be delayed further. The Committee formed with Justice (Retd) Narasimha Reddy as the Chairman to look in to the matter was to submit its report on 14 June 2016. But the government has extended its term for six months more, which means that they have time up to 14th December 2016. The delay could have been avoided, since large number of the defence retirees are eagerly waiting for the decision for years together.

The government has also not taken decision on the recommendations of the VII Central Pay Commission with regard to pension parity, similar pension ,for the civilian employees.

On the one side the government calls for quick governance, but it ‘s own actions are delay in decision making.

CABINET TO TAKE UP PROPOSAL ON SPECTRUM AUCTION ON 22-06-2016.

The Union Cabinet is likely to take up for approval the Telecom Ministry’s proposal on various issues related to upcoming spectrum auctions such as pricing and timing, on Wednesday, according to a telecom ministry official. The approval will pave the way for putting the largest ever amount of spectrum – 2000 MHz – on sale for telecom companies.

The DoT has been under pressure from the Finance Ministry to expedite the auction process which is expected to generate about Rs. 5.36 lakh crore for the government. While Telecom (DoT) Secretary JS Deepak had said that the government was working towards holding the auctions in July, Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had later hinted at a possibility of auctions being held in August-September time-frame.                  (The Hindu dated 21-06-2016)

When the government is getting such a huge amount from the proposed spectrum auction, a small portion should be spared for strengthening the BSNL.
