The WFTU Expresses its Solidarity with Canada Postal Workers.

The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing 92 million workers in 126 countries, declares its firm solidarity with Canadian working class and Canada Post Workers who are currently facing an anti-labour attack. As in Europe, also in Canada, governments and multi-nationals companies are licking their lips at the prospects of large scale privatizations. Canada Post is a similar case.

Canada Post’s demands for massive concessions on pension plans, rollbacks on wages and working conditions is combined with their attempt to smash the unions, slash services and entirely break up the public post office. We also rise against the massive disinformation campaign led by Canada Post leadership, aimed at turning the public against the fair demands of postal workers. The employers are also using deliberate lies to convince the public that Canada Post is a non-profitable company and that constantly loses money. The world workers are experienced with this kind of lies deployed by every government who wants to privatize any social service.

We, as WFTU, will stand by the Canada Post workers if they are forced out on strike, until the satisfaction of the contemporary workers’ needs.

GULBARGA DISTRICT BRANCH ( KARNATAKA ) CELEBRATES THE VICTORY OF 78.2%

The special monthly meeting was held on 20/7/2016 in BSNLEU Office in E-10B Exchange Bldg. to celebrate the victory  of 78.2 % DA Merger

Com.A.Guranna, District President presided over the meeting.

Respectful homage was paid by the house to the departed members Mr M Siddalingayya Retd CSS and Com C s Tonsalli Retd SDE who passed away recently.

Com Ujalambakar DS  explained the happenings in the  case 78.2% and the victory got. He also explained about the removal of clause 60:40 issue. The 3rd PRC was also discussed. Members were disappointed over the denial of arrears due to increase in DCRG, Commutation and Leave Encashment.  .D S  requested to donate liberally on getting the 78.2% arrears to help the Association.

Com L R Bhosle ,ACS, BSNEU spoke on the occasion and appealed to strengthen the unity for united struggle by which only we can achieve . Finally Com Md Hameeduddin paid the vote of thanks

K G Basu Smrity Welfear Committee 3rd G.B Meeting

The K.G.Basu Wellfear Trust Committee’s 3rd General Body Meeting  was held on 23.07.2016 at Bolpur Town Library (Suri District, WB) organized by jointly BSNLEU, BSNLCMU & AIBDPA Suri District Branch.  After hoisting of Association flag and garlanding the martyr’s column Com Animesh Mitra, circle Secretary BSNLEU, W.B Circle inaugurated the open session. Coms Tapash Ghosh, Circle Secretary, BSNLCMU, WB Circle, Com. Madan mohan Ghosh, District Secretary Suri, AIBDPA. Com.Tarak Kundu, Secretary K.G.Basu wellfear Committee , greeted the Meeting at the inaugural session. A presidium consisting of Coms Pankaj Saha, Swapan Chanda and Najash Nouraj controlled the proceedings.

NEW DISTRICT BRANCH FORMED AT TUMKUR, KARNATAKA ON 14-07-2016

OFFICE BEARERS OF TUMKUR DISTRICT BRANCH WITH COMS. G.G.PATIL,AGS, SA.BILAGI, CIRCLE SECRETARY AND M.C.BALAKRISHNA, AGS, BSNL EMPLOYEES UNION.

A new district branch was formed at Tumkur on 14-07-2016 in the meeting of BSNL DoT pensioners held for this purpose. Com.G.G.Patil, AGS inaugurated the meeting and explained how 78.2% was achieved through sustained struggles by AIBDPA, BSNLEU and the Forum. Coms.S.A. Bilagi, Circle Secretary, C. Annigeri, Circle Treasurer and H.C.Prakash, District Secretary, Bengaluru also addressed.

60:40% condition withdrawn – Orders by DoT.

After the Cabinet decision on 78.2% IDA pension fixation which itself has decided that the full responsibility for pension of BSNL retirees is with the government. DoT has issued a specific order stating that 60:40 % condition is done away with. This became necessary to override the earlier decision. A long pending demand of Forum and AIBDPA has been settled.<<view order>>
