Settlement of pay aberrations of the seniors to that of the juniors in Non-Executive cadres consequence to pay revision from 01-10.2000.

 

The union representatives informed the GM (Estt.) that they have infor.med from the Establishment Section of DoT that the issue of pay aberrations of the seniors with the juniors in Non-Executive cadres due to conversion of CDA to IDA pay from 01.10.2000, which was forwarded to DoT by BSNL is returned to BSNL to give the details of financial implications in this matter. The GM confirmed that the matter and informed the union representatives that the Establishment Section would collect informations from the circles on financial implications in that matter and will reply to DoT. The union representatives made request to the GM that since the issue is lingering for last 16 years and most of the affected seniors are already retired, the Management should not merely writes to the circle to give the above cited informations, which may further delay in settlement of the long pending issue. Therefore, the BSNL Management may take up the issue with the DoT alongwith informations available with BSNL Corporate Office instead of waiting for informations from the circles. The GM (Estt.), after hearing the details from the union representatives, assured that she will personally discuss the matter with the DDG (Estt.), DoT and will see what best can be done at the earliest.

Meeting with CMD BSNL on Penion Revision

Com. V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor and Com. R.A.Nair, Treasurer met Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL on 26th October 2017 and discussed about the urgency of revising the pension of the BSNL retirees on the basis of the accepted recommendations of the III Pay Revision Committee with 15% fitment. They pointed out that they have already discussed the matter with Secretary DOT and requested the CMD also to take up the matter. The justification of the demand was fully explained and the CMD appreciated the point. They gave him a letter with copy of letter already given to the Secretary, DoT.

They also pointed out that early wage revision in BSNL will further help in implementation of the Option 3 for the BSNL pensioners. <<view letter>>

DHARMAPURI DISTRICT BRANCH FORMED

 .COM.C.K.NARASIMHAN, CIRCLE SECRETARY INAUGURATING.

A new district branch has been formed at Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu in the meeting held on 22-10-2017. Com.Ashagirisamy presided over the meeting and Com.C.K.Narasimhan, Circle Secretary inaugurated. Com.N.Kuppusamy, Asst Circle Secretary welcomed all the participants. Com.Krishnan, District Secreatry, BSNLEU, Com.Chellamuthu etc addressed.

An adhoc committee has been formed with Com.Ashagirisamy elected as Convenor.

 

 

NCCPA MASS DHARNA ON 25-10-2017 A RESOUNDING SUCCESS.

The Mass Dharna on 25-10-2017 called by NCCPA at Meghdoot Bhawan (CPMG Office), New Delhi reflected the anger and anguish of the pensioners against the anti-pensioner and anti-worker policies of the government. More than 1000 pensioners from all over the country, representing the affiliated organisations enthusiastically participated. 357 comrades of AIBDPA actively participated. (The quota given to AIBDPA was 300.)

Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Patron, NCCPA and Advisor, AIBDPA inaugurated the Dharna with a powerful speech. Com.Shiv Gopal Mishra, Chairman, NCCPA delivered the presidential address. Com.Tapan Sen MP, General Secretary,CITU, Coms.K.K.N.Kutty, Secreatry General, NCCPA, M.S.Raja, Confederation, Swapan Chakraborty, Dy General Secretary, BSNLEU ,K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary, AIBDPA, K.Raghavendran, General Secretary, AIPRPA, M.N.Reddy, General Secretary, Telangana All Pensioners & Retirees Association and a host of leaders addressed the Dharna.

The Dharna was held as per the decision of the National Executive of NCCPA held at Nagpur on 19-08-2017 on the 10 point charter of demands including implementation of Option 1, Pension Revision of BSNL retirees with 15% fitment on IDA pattern, Fixed Medical Allowance of Rs.2000, Restoration of commutation after 10 years, Extend CGHS facilities to all central government pensioners, Grant statutory defined benefit pension to those recruited after 01-01-2004 etc.

After the Dharna was concluded at 3 PM, a delegation of leaders met the Chief Post Master General and handed over a memorandum to the Prime Minister for settlement of the demands.

CHQ heartily congratulates all the AIBDPA comrades who have come from almost all circles to make the Dharna historic.

 

MEETING WITH SECRETARY,DOT ON PENSION REVISION.

Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor, K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary and R.A.Nair, Treasurer had a fruitful meeting with Smt.Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, DoT on.25-10-2017. The delegation handed over a detailed letter on Pension Revision of BSNL retirees with 15% fitment on IDA pattern. The Secretary agreed to do the needful in the matter.<<view letter>>

  • The representatives also brought to her notice a very heart breaking case in Tamil Nadu Circle wherein the Principal CCA has returned the files of 687 Pensioners for 78.2% IDA pension revision with the directive to resubmit by deducting the extra increment already calculated for pension revision on 68.8%.The Secretary stated that she will examine the case.  <<View letter>>

National Workshop on wage revision of Public Sector employees, held at Hyderabad.

A National workshop, on wage revision in the Central Public Sector Undertakings, was held in the Sundaraiya Vigyan Kendra at Hyderabad, on 22-10-2017. It was jointly organised by INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, LPF, JAF of the Bengaluru based Public Sector trade unions and the Coordination Committee of the Hyderabad based Public Sector trade unions. Independent trade unions / federations of various sectors, including BSNLEU, also participated. Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy, president, INTUC, inaugurated the Seminar. Com.Tapan Sen, MP, General Secretary, CITU, com.H.Mahadevan(AITUC), com. Ellaiah(HMS) and com. Shanmugam(LPF) addressed. This was followed by deliberations by the delegates.

The main focus of the discussion was wage revision. However, serious concerns were expressed about the mad drive of the Narendra Modi government, for disinvestment and privatisation of the Public Sector, increasing contractualisation of permanent jobs, need for fresh recruitment, wage revision of the contract workers, etc. It was also strongly insisted that the trade unions should not accept 10 year wage agreement and should fight for 5 year settlement.

Participating in the debate, com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, highlighted the one day strike held in BSNL on 27.07.2017, on wage revision issue and the decision of the entire unions and associations of BSNL to go on a two day strike in December, demanding wage settlement and opposing formation of the Subsidiary Tower Company. He also explained how successfully the BSNL employees are facing the cut throat competition of Reliance Jio. Com.Ramanandan, Secretary, CITU, explained the wage settlement reached in the Coal India Ltd. The Seminar decided that the Public Sector trade unions should closely coordinate among themselves to successfully settle the wage revision and against disinvestment and privatisation.<<<views of the meeting>>>

ARRANGEMENTS ARE COMPLETED FOR THE MASS DHARNA ON 25-10-2017.

The NCCPA Dharna on 25-10-2017 is going to be historic with most participation of pensioners. The pensioners from far off circles have already arrived in Delhi and others from the nearby circles will reach tomorrow morning. AIBDPA is sure to surpass the quota of participants and the same is the case with other constistuents of NCCPA.

The Dharna is being organised as per the decision of the National Executive of NCCPA held at Nagpur on 19-08-2017. The 10 point Charter of demands include Implementation of Option 1, Revision of Pension of BSNL retirees with 15% fitment on IDA pattern, Monthly Medical Allowance of Rs.2000, Restoration of commutation after 10 years, Minimum pension/ family pension be Rs.12,000, Grant CGHS facilities to all pensioners, Grant defined benefit pension scheme to the employees recruited after 01–1-2004 etc.

The Dharna will be addressed by Coms.Tapan Sen.M.P, Shivgopal Mishra, Chairman NCCPA and Secretary, JCM (Staff Side), K.K.N.Kutty, Secretary General, NCCPA, V.A.N.Namboodiri, Patron, NCCPA, K.G..Jayaraj, General Secretary, AIBDPA, K.Raghavendran, General Secretary, AIPRPA etc

The government has desperately tried to foil the attempt of staging the Dharna at Janter Manter and now the venue is shifted to Meghdoot Bhawan, (CPMG Office), Near Jandewalan Metro station from 11 AM to 3 PM on 25-10-2017.
