Kannur District, one of the biggest District Branches in the country, has held its 5th biennial conference at Thalassery on 30-04-2018.  Com.P.V.Unnikrishnan, District President was in the chair. Com. M.P.Suresh Babu, Chairman, Reception Committee, welcomed one and all. Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor in his inaugural address explained the organisational position, serious issues confronting the pensioners, especially pension revision , attempts to curtail the medical facilities. He stressed the importance of struggles through which important demands were achieved and appealed to strengthen the organisation further to continue the struggle. Coms. N.Guruprasad, Circle Secretary, K.Mohanan, former Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, V.P.Somasekharan, District Secretary, CGPA, Puthiyadavan Narayanan, District Secretary, AIPRPA, Raveendran Kodakkad, District Secretary, BSNLEU, V.V.Krishnan, District Secretary, BSNLCCLU, Deepak Kumar, District Secretary, SNEA, A.Balan, District Secretary, AIBSNLEA, Shri.Ashok Kallar, GMT,BSNL and Shri. S.V.Padmanabhan, DGM addressed the conference.

The biennial report and audited accounts presented by Coms.K.Kunhiraman, District Secretary and K.Ramachandran, Treasurer were adopted after detailed discussion.

Coms.P.V.Unnikrishnan and K.Kunhiraman have been elected President and Secretary, respectively.
