Burdwan District Branch and CORTO have jointly organised an impressive SIT IN DEMONSTRATION before the DGM office, Burdwan on 08-08-2017 demanding immediate settlement of the local problems pending for a long time, viz, (1) Medical bills, both indoor and outdoor (2) Creation of HRMS for pre 2007 pensioners (3) 78.2% IDA fixation (4) Issuing of Identity cards to pensioners (5) Quarterly Medical Allowance-implementation of orders and (6) Allotment of vacant staff quarters to pensioners at Burdwan and Katwa.
89 members of AIBDPA and 16 of CORTO participated in the agitation which was addressed by Coms. Shyama Pada Ray (District Secretary), Surendranath Roy, Manik Lal Das, Subhas Shee, Mrinal Kanti Sarkar and Amalendu Mukharjee (CORTO). Leaders of Jukta Mancha Pensioers Associations also addressed and assured full support.
The DGM met the leaders and agreed for a detailed discussion on the issues on 16-08-2017 after which the agitation was concluded at 4.30 PM.
