11.12.2025 is the 51st death anniversary of Com. K. G. Bose, the militant leader of C G employees and particularly of P & T employees. He was very active in the union ever since his entry in to DET office Calcutta in 1942.
He along with Com. Dada Ghosh led the 1946 historical All India P & T strike in Bengal, 5 days strike of CG Employees in 1960 and also one day strike of 19 September 1968 along with other leaders.
He was Circle Secretary of Telecom Union Class III (NFPTE), W. Bengal for many years. Was elected as President of NFPTE in 1970. Com. K. G. Bose gave a progressive outlook to the P&T movement. His speeches and writes up inspired a whole generation of workers like me. It was an honour for me to be in close touch with him since 1966 at the Trivandrum AIC.
He was a Member of the Pay Commission for W. Bengal State employees. Com K. G. Bose passed away on 11.12.1974 in U. K. while undergoing treatment for the dreaded cancer. His brother, Com. Moni Bose, also a P &T Union leader, passed away in 2010.Memory of Com. K. G. will inspire us in our struggle against the new attacks against workers and pensioners by the Modi Government. Red Salute to Com K G Bose.!
