Vellore District Branch is unique in its services to the pensioners. Office bearers under the leadership of Com. Jothisudanthiranathan usually undertakes visits to the pensioners’ homes, particularly family pensioners. During such a visit they found out that two family pensioners who are eligible to get BSNL pension have not applied as they were drawing military pension.

Guided by the District Branch, both the family pensioners, Smt. S.Lakshmi, widow of late Shri. S.Masilamani, Telecom Mechanic, Vellore who was an ex-serviceman, retired on 30-04-2006 and expired on 12-03-2009 and so also Smt. Lalitha, widow of Pandu, Group D, ex-serviceman retired on 30-04-2003 and expired on 14-02-2010, applied for BSNL pension. District Branch and the Circle Branch pursued the cases vigorously and got it settled in a record time. As a result, Smt. S.Lakshmi got arrears . of Rs.4,80, 000 and Smt. Lalitha got Rs. 4, 81, 810.
