CHQ is much saddened to report the sad semise of Com.A C Mohanty, Circle Secretary, Odisha on 03-01-2022. He was ailing for the last one and half year and his fight against the dreaded cancer finally had its logic end. Com. A C Mohanty was always in the forefront and was one of the stalwart leaders of telecom movement in Odisha. He took active part in organising AIBDPA in Odisha along with veteran leaders Com.A Dhupal and S C Biswal and was the founder Circle President. He took up the responsibility of the Circle Secretary when Com. S C Biswal had to vacate the post on health grounds. Thereafter, Com. A C Mohanty worked relenlessly in tandem with Com.A Dhupal in strengthening the oraganisation in Odisha.

Another District Branch has been formed in Gujarat. Nadiad Kheda , the 16th District Branch came into existence in the meeting held at Kheda on 02-01-2022. Coms. A R Patel, District Coordinator and T V Ghelani took the initiative to organise the meeting. Com. N N Patel, Circle President presided and delivered the keynote address. SUREBDRANAGAR DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD WITH GOOD PARTICIPATION.

The 5th biennial district conference of Surendranagar, Gujarat has been held with good participation on 02-01-2021. Com. C P Sabhani, District President controlled the proceedings. Com. M K Parejia, District Secretary delivered the welcome address. Com. M B Chaniyara, Circle Secretary & CHQ Organising Secretary inaugurated the conference with an elaborate speech covering the issues of the pensioners. Coms.Md Attaula, ACS, R U Anjeria, Circle Treasurer, J V Dhaneessha, K G Jograna, R P Zala, P C Kordia and Shri H D Joshi, DGM also addressed the conference. The report and accounts presented by the District Secretary and Treasurer were approved by the conference. 32 seniors above 70 and 4 super seniors above 80 were honoured in the conference. COM.M AYYASAMY, DISTRICT SECRETARY, VIRUDHUNAGAR, TAMIL NADU HAS PASSED AWAY.

CHQ is saddened to report the unexpected demise of Com.M Ayyasamy, District Secretary, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu at 1030PM on 01-01-2022. He was actively working for the proposed District Conference on 09-01-2022 and a massive heart attack caused him to breath his last. Com.Ayyasamy was a militant, sincere and dedicated leader who toiled to strengthen the organisation from the very beginning. He was also closely associated with other progressive movements, including CPI(M).CHQ pays respectful homages to the departed leader and conveys heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and Comrades.

CHENNAI TELECOM DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD.

Com. N Kuppusamy, Circle Secretary inaugurated the biennial district conference of Chennai Telecom on 29-12-2021. Com.C Swamy Gurunathan, District President presided. Com. MALAPPURAM DISTRICT CONFERENCE AND CONVENTION AGAINST NATIONAL MONETISATION PIPELINE HELD SUCCESSFULLY.

The 6th biennial District Conference of Malappuram and the convention against National Monetisation Pipeline was held at Com.U Sukumaran Nagar ( NGO Union Hall, Malappuram on 30-12-2021.Com.P T M A Jaleel, District President presided. Com. V P Abdulla, District Secretary , BSNLEU welcomed the gathering. Com. N Guruprasad, Circle Secretary inaugurated and explained the issues in detail. Com. M Vijayakumar, AGS, BSNLEU delivered the keynote address and gave a good account of the dangers if the national monetisation pipeline is allowed to be implemented. The report and audited accounts presented by Coms. M N Madhavan, District Secretary and P Ramachandran, Treasurer were adopted after discussion. Coms. P T M A Jaleel (President) M N Madhavan (District Secretary) P Ramachandran (Treasurer) were elected unanimously.

BERHAMPORE DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD JOINTLY WITH BSNLEU & BSNL CMU.

The biennial Berhampore District Conference was held jointly with BSNLEU & BSNL CMU at Telephone Exchange premises on 26-12-2021. Coms. Samir Kumar Gupta, Tapan Kumar Bhowmic and Sekhar Kumar Sarkar were in the presidium. Com.Pijush Chakraborty, Circle Secretary & CHQ Organising Secretary inaugurated the conference. Coms. Animesh Mitra, All India President & Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, and a host of leaders including Coms. Imran Khan, M S Saha, Mamata Sarkar and Tarak Kundu addressed the open session. The leaders gave a good account of the recent developments in the country, the issues of pensioners, issues of the employees and contract workers, the agitations being launched, National Monetisation Pipeline and appealed to make the two days National Strike on 23-24 February a grand success. In the subject session, the report and accounts placed by the District Secretary and Treasurer were adopted after detailed discussion. Coms. Tapan Kumar Bhowmic, M Ghosh and Dipankar Dutta were elected unanimously as President, Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

BANKURA DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD WITH LARGE PARTICIPATION.

The 5th biennial District Conference of Bankura, West Bengal was held on 26-12-2021 with the participation of 119 delegates. A presidium consisting Coms. L K Tudu, Gurudas Pramanik, Debu Malakar and S D Banerjee controlled the proceedings. Com. Sushanta Ghosh, CHQ Vice President and Circle President inaugurated the conference with an educative speech explaining the issues of the pensioners and the current developments in the country. Coms. Nepal Goswami, Leader, Jukta Mancha, Debishankar Pal, Secretary, CORTO, Kartich Ch Das, leader of BSNLCMU and Sanjoy Pal, District Secretary, BSNLEU addressed the conference. The report and audited accounts placed by the District Secretary and Treasurer were adopted after discussion. Resolutions were also adopted on important issues. Thereafter, office bearers were elected unanimously with Com. Santosh Ch Das (President) Com. Dilip Kr Pal (District Secretary) and Com.Mahadeb Bhattacharya (Treasurer).
