The reports and photos received from various circles about the Dharna on 11-12-2017 is quite encouraging and enthusiastic. The call for the two phased program of agitation; Call Attention Day on 20-11-2017 and the Mass Dharna on 11-12-2017 was responded by the pensioners with their unprecedented massive participation. In Northern and North Eastern circles, it is noteworthy that even braving inclement weather the pensioners participated in large numbers.
The demands put forward for the agitation (1) Pension Revision with 15% fitment from 01-01-2017 to BSNL pensioners, (2) Immediate settlement of Pension Revision to DoT retirees based on 3rd option and (3) Monthly Medical Allowance of Rs.2000 to BSNL and DoT pensioners for outdoor treatment , are much relevant and need of the hour. Pensioners are well aware that through sustained struggle only the genuine demands could be achieved and these are the main reasons for the massive response.
