Injustice to Maharashtra ST officials / retirees in the name of verification of caste certificate – join AIBDPA demonstrations on 02.06.2025..

For the past many years, BSNL Management is harassing the ST officials and pensioners of Maharashtra circle, in the name of verification of caste certificates. DoP&T instructions and DoT order are blatantly being violated by BSNL Management. Retirement benefits of ST retirees are being denied in blatant violation of the DoT order. This has resulted in immense sufferings to scores of retirees belonging to the ST community. As all comrades are aware that, BSNLEU has continuously written letters to the top Management of BSNL, highlighting this issue. But, nothing has been done by the Management. Especially, the Maharashtra circle administration is hell- bent in heaping injustice to the ST officials and retirees. The AIBDPA, our sister Organisation, has given call for conducting demonstrations on 02.06.2025. All circle and district unions are requested to organise lunch hour demonstrations on that day, in coordination with AIBDPA and make the call a success.

World Federation of Trade Unions statement on the new barbaric military attack and deliberate starvation of the people of Gaza

20 May 2025by central wftu

The World Federation of Trade Unions expresses its deepest outrage and unequivocal condemnation of the new barbaric military attack and deliberate, systematic, and inhumane policy of starvation being imposed upon the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation forces.

We denounce the use of famine as a weapon of war — a blatant violation of international law and basic human morality. The calculated destruction of vital infrastructure, the blockade of humanitarian aid, the bombing of food distribution centers, and the targeting of agricultural lands and water supplies constitute a man-made famine. These actions amount to collective punishment, a war crime under the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The escalation of the genocide with the blessing and support of the USA, EU and their allies, reveals once again the hypocrisy and cynicism of the imperialist powers.

The WFTU stands in unwavering solidarity with the heroic people of Palestine who, despite enduring an unprecedented siege, continue to resist with dignity and courage. We salute the Palestinian working class, whose suffering is immense and whose resilience is inspiring in the face of genocide, forced displacement, and systematic starvation.

The class oriented international trade union, demands an immediate end to the siege on Gaza; full and unrestricted humanitarian access to food, water, medicine, and fuel; accountability for those responsible for crimes against humanity.

Hands off Gaza! End the occupation! Solidarity with Palestine!

15th May 2025 is the 100th birth anniversary of Com.Moni Bose, the former General Secretary of E.III Union and the first Patron of BSNLEU. Since his joining the P&T in the 1945, he was active in the P&T Union movement and participated in the 1946 P&T strike and was terminated from service for leading the proposed 1949 strike.
He was never taken back in service, but continued his service to the workers in the Union till his death in 2010. He fought for the correct policies in NFPTE along with his elder brother and President of NFPTE Com.K.G.Bose.

It was a great moment for the entire telecom workers, when he was elected as the General Secretary of E.III Union in 1991. Later he became President in 1994.

I had the opportunity to work with him for than four decades. He was a comrade in its real meaning. His life partner Com. Jytosna was a partner both in his union activities and personal life. She also passed away two years back.

BSNLEU CHQ is organising a Memorial Meeting at Kolkata on 15th May 2025 , the 100th Birth Anniversary Com.Moni Bose. A Souvenir is also being published on the occasion.
