The biennial District Conference of Burdwan, West Bengal has been held with good participation at Telephone Exchange, Burdwan on 10-03-2024.Com.Manik Lal Das, President presided over the conference. Com.Shyama Pada Ray, District Secretary welcomed the gathering. Com.Animesh Mitra , CHQ President, BSNLEU inaugurated the conference with detailed and spirited speech covering the national situation and the issues being faced by the workewrs and pensioners. Coms. Om Prakash Singh, CHQ Organising Secretary, Asis Das, Circle Secretary also addressed. The report and audited accounts presented by Coms. Shyama Pada Ray, District Secretary and S S Mondal ,Treasurer were approved after discussion.

Coms. Manik Lal Das, Shyama Pada Ray and S S Mondal were reelcted as President, District Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

Mahabbob Nagar District in Telangana Circle has held its biennial conference on 10-03-2024. Com. G Rangaiah, District President was in chair. Com. Chinna Saheb, District Secretary welcomed and presented the report and accounts. Coms. D Shankar, CHQ Vice President and Ramachandradu, Circle Secretary addressed and explained the issues in detail. 34 new members joined AIBDPA and were greeted to the conference. The conference honoured the veterans who crossed 75 with garlands and shawls. Coms. G Rangaiah and Chinna Saheb were reelcted as President and District Secretary in the unanimous election of office bearers.

Circle Executive Committee meeting of Chhattisgarh was held at Raipur on 10-03-2024. Com. Devangan, Circle Vice President presided over the meeting. Com.R P Atmapoojya, Circle Secretary welcomed all and presented the report for the intervening period. In his elaborate report, Circle Secretary explained the present status of the important issues of pension revision and medical benefits and the struggles conducted and continuing efforts being made by CHQ and Circle for settlement. Com.Omkarnath, District Secretary, Bilaspur initiated the discussion and a good number of comrades aired their views. The CEC decided to strengthen organisation further.

The Circle Conference of Rajasthan has been held befittingly on 09-03-2024 at Hotel Indiana Pride, Jaipur. Com. K P Sharma, Circle President presided. Com. M K Nagpal, Circle Secretary welcomed one and all and presented the report and audited accounts.

Com. K G Jayaraj, General Secretary inaugurated the conference and gave a good account of developmens with regard to the important issues like medical benefits, CGHS, Pension Revision. He emphasised the need to strengthen our beloved AIBDPA by enrolling more pensioners and family pensioners.

Coms. Ashok Pareek, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, P. K. Jain, CHQ Organising Secretary, BSNLEU, Kamal Singh Gohil Circle President, BSNLEU, S. L.Ojha, Senior leader and Circle Patron, Hari Narain CHQ Organising Secretary addressed the conference. Comrades from all the districts participated in the discussion that followed after which both the report and accounts were approved.

Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary on 07-03-2024 brougt to notice of PGM (Estt ) a very pathetic case of utter negligence and cruelty being meted out to a poor family by not processing family pension case even after 18 months of submission of application with all required documents. A letter in this regard was also handed over to him.

PGM was visibly moved on hearing the story and stated that CGMT has got the power to do the needful in such cases and he should only be insisted.

General Secretary brought to notice of GM(Admin) the difficulties being experienced by the BSNL retirees for yearly revalidation of medical cards. Extensive discussion had been there on the issue on 11-07-2023 wth the then GM(Admin ). General Secretary demanded to follow the proceedure being adopted for CGHS Card revalidation where it is warranted only when there is some change in respect of the beneficiaries. The CHQ letter on the issue was also given to the GM.

GM stated that the issue will be reexamined.

Com. K G Jayaraj, General Secretary had a meeting with Shri. Sanjeev Tyagi on 07-03-2024 and discussed the following issues.

1. Discrimination in extending certain benefits to the Family Pensioners.

The family pensioners are denied the opportunity to change the medical option eventhough there is full justification in the changed situation.

1. Family pensioners are denied concessional FTTH facility

General Secretary handed over the letter on these issues and demanded early settlement. GM replied that it will be examined.

Union Cabinet has decided to grant 4% DA/DR from 01-01-2024 to the Central Goverment Employees and Pensioners which has become due as per Cost of Price Index. So the total DA/DR will be 50%. Orders are yet to be issued.

Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary has met Shri. P. C. Bhat, PGM, CBB, BSNL Corporate Office on 07-03-2024 and discussed the issue of delay in payment of medical bills and medical allowance to the BSNL Retirees. PGM has assured that payment will be made by the end of March, 2024.
