BSNL and Govt has failed to implement the decisions of the Welfare Committee held on 18 February 2002 presided by Communications Minister with regard to the benefits, presents etc to the retiring employees.
As demanded by V.A.N.Namboodiri, then General Secretary BSNLEU, the following were agreed to by the Minister and decision taken:
1. A farewell meeting will be arranged by the highest officer at the station
2. All payments due to the retiring BSNL employees including last month salary, GPF, leave salary, gratuity, commutation etc will be paid in cash/ cheque on retiring day.
3. A certificate regarding service etc and appreciation will be presented
3. A shawl will be presented. Brief case with all documents including pension papers.
4. An amount of Rs.1001 as a token of appreciation. ( This was increased to Rs 3001 later )

These decisions were being implemented all these years. But the VRS retirees as well as retirees on superannuation on 31.1.2020 were not paid salary and other payment dues as also the brief case, Rs.3001 etc. This is utter insult to the retiring employees, injustice and violation of orders and decisions of the Welfare Committee presided by Minister.

AIBDPA has called for mighty protest demonstrations on 3rd February 2020 against this injustice and insult.

AIBDPA demands BSNL management and DOT to immediately implement the decisions. It is also demanded that the pension ( or atleast provisional pension) be paid by the end of February on due date as agreed to by Member (Finance) DOT during the meeting with AIBDPA.

PROTEST THE INSULT AND INJUSTICE TO THE BSNL VRS RETIREES- ORGANISE PROTEST DEMONSTRATION ON 03-02-2020

78,569 BSNL employees are retiring on 31-01-2020 on VRS ,as part of the Revival Package declared by the central government in October,2019.
While announcing the Revival Package,Hon’ble Minister for Communications, Shri.Ravi Shankar Prasad had claimed it is the most attractive VRS ever implented and the entire expenditure will be borne by the government.
But what is the reality.?
All the VRS optees ,who have put in a unblemished and meritorious service for 25 to 35 years are leaving the BSNL empty handed.
The BSNL management insulted them initially by issuing a letter for curtailment of farewell compliments.
Now, they are compelled to bid farewell empty handed, leave alone the retirement benefits, but even salary is not paid. This is nothing but adding insult to injury.
AIBDPA strongly protest this inhuman attitude of BSNL management and the central government and calls upon all its units to organise Protest Demonstration on 3rd February,2020.
