JALPAIGURI BIENNIAL DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD.

The 4th biennial District conference of Jalpaiguri has been held on 08-02-2020 at Telecom Recreation Club Hall, Jalpaiguri. Coms.Maniklal Mukherjee and Gautam Mridha jointly presided. Com.Susanta Ghosh, CHQ Vice President and Circle President inaugurated the conference with an elaborate speech covering the issues and decisions of Guwahati CEC. Coms.Subhas Biswas (Yuktamancha), Mihir Banerjee(CGPA), Soumen Chandraroy(DS,BSNLEU), Bikash Biswas(CMU) and Shri.D.Chakraborty, AGM(Admn) greeted the conference.

Prabir Biswas, District Secretary and Com.K P Banik, Treasurer presented the report and accounts, respectively and adopted after discussion. Com. Pijush Chakraborty, Circle Secretary summed up and appealed to make the agitational programmes a grand success.

Coms.Maniklal Mukherjee, Prabir Ghosh and Kalipada Banik were elected President, District Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

Dear Comrade,
In most of the circles, the first two phases of the agitational programs,box
Signature campaign in the memorandum to the Prime Minister and meeting the Parliament Members are successfully completed and congratulate all the Comrades for their sincere efforts. It should be ensured that the memorandum with signatures be sent directly to the Prime Minister by post.
Those circles/ districts who have not yet started or completed this important task has to do it urgently.
It is significant that Shri.Rupin Bora, Rajya Sabha MP from Assam who is the President of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has raised the issue of Pension Revision with 15% fitment in the upper house on 04-02-2020. Our Comrades have already met more than 100 MPs, including 4 ministers and the Lok Sabha Speaker and all responded positively.
HUNGER DHARNA AT CCA OFFICES ON 12-02-2020.
Please make necessary arrangements for conducting the Hunger Dharna before the CCA offices on 12-02-2020 with maximum participation of pensioners. Special efforts may be made to participate maximum number of VRS retirees.Also try to participate prominent leaders at Circle/ local level of trade unions and Pensioners Associations and address the Dharna.
JOIN THE AUAB AGITATIONS.
AUAB,in its meeting held on 06-02-2020 has decided two programs,
1. Lunch hour Demonstration on 11-02-2020.
2. Hunger Strike on 24-02-2020.
We have to join the program to make it a great success.
ISSUES OF VRS RETIREES.
CHQ is dealing the issues of the VRS retirees seriously with due importance. Our meeting with Member (Finance) on 16-12-2019 for grant of Provisional Pension is being considered favourably and order is expected shortly. The second issue discussed during the meeting , posting of retired staff at CCA offices for additional work due to mass VRS, also has been resolved.
Let us assure them that AIBDPA is committed to deal their issues effectively and they would be secure in AIBDPA, whatever may be the issues. Please do not hesitate to contact CHQ for any issue of the VRS retirees.
PARLIAMENT MARCH ON 12-03-2020.
The culmination of the agitational programs should give a strong message to the government. Therefore maximum participation from each Circle should be ensured.Holi falls on 10th March and without any hindence to Holi celebration, our Comrades from North India could participate in the Parliament March on 12 th March.
Circle Secretaries have to urgently send the arrival/departure details of participants from the Circle to enable CHQ to arrange accommodation for those coming from distant circles. CHQ will provide accommodation for one day, either 11-12 or 12-13 March, as the case may be.
Comrades, please get in touch with the district Secretaries and motivate them for the successful implementation of the agitational programs.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM DISTRICT HELD ACTIVE WORKERS MEETING WITH VRS RETIREES.

A district level active workers meeting along with the newly enrolled VRS retirees was held at P&T House, Thiruvananthapuram on 06-02-2020. Com.N Vikraman Nair, District President presided. Com.C Ramachandran, Distict Secretary welcomed all.

Com.R Muraleedharan Nair, Asst General Secretary inaugurated the meeting and explained the functioning of AIBDPA since its inception and the struggles being conducted for settlement of the genuine issues. He welcomed the VRS retirees warmly to AIBDPA and assured that their issues will be dealt with all seriousness. Coms.R R Warier, ACS, G Raveendran Nair, Circle Vice President and representing the VRS retirees Coms.P Gopakumar,,K Narayanan Potty, Satheesan Kaimanam and G Satheendran Nair addressed the meeting. Com.K P Prathapachandran Nair , District Treasurer proposed vote of thanks.

GENERAL SECRETARY INAUGURATED KOZHIKODE SSA CONVENTION.

Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary inaugurated the Kozhikode SSA convention at Manamchira Telecom Recreation Club Hall on 07-02-2020. Com.Punnasseri Balan, District Vice President controlled the proceedings. Com.P V Chandrasekharan, District Secretary welcomed the participants, particularly the newly enrolled VRS retirees.

General Secretary in his inaugural address gave a good account of developments in the recent past and the circumstances under which the CEC decided for the four phased agitational programme demanding pension revision with 15% fitment from 01-01-2017, delinking wage revision. He assured the VRS retirees that AIBDPA is committed to deal their issues in right earnest and explained the efforts already taken for provisional pension.

KANNUR SSA CONVENTION HELD ON 06-02-2020.

Com.P V Unnikrishnan, Circle Patron and SSA President presided over the Kannur SSA level convention at NGO Union Hall, Kannur on 06-02-2020. Com.K Kunhiraman, District Secretary welcomed one and all. The hall was jam packed as a good number of VRS retirees also attended.

Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary inaugurated the convention with an elaborate speech covering the issues of pension revision, denial of medical benefits, revival package of BSNL including VRS and issues of the VRS retirees. General Secretary also explained the current developments in the country, especially the ongoing struggle against the CAA and the repressive measures being resorted to by the government to contain the struggle. He also replied to some of the points raised by a few participants.

JOIN THE AUAB AGITATIONAL PROGRAMME AS DETAILED BELOW AND MAKE IT A GRAND SUCCESS.

All the AIBDPA units are requested to join the following agitational programme called by AUAB raising important demands, as detailed below.

AUAB decides to launch agitational programme.

A meeting of the AUAB was held today, presided over by Com.Chandeswar Singh, Chairman. All the constituents of the AUAB attended today’s meeting. Com.P.Abhimanyu, Convenor, welcomed all and briefed on the agenda for discussion. The meeting held in-depth discussions and decided to launch agitational programme on the following Demands:-

 

  1. Immediate payment of salary for the months of December, 2019 & January, 2020, as well as prompt payment of salary every month.
  2. Immediate clearance of the dues, already deducted from the salaries of employees.
  3. Immediate launching of BSNL’s 4G service.
  4. Immediate granting of sovereign guarantee for issuing of bonds by BSNL.
  5. Immediate withdrawal of notices issued under FR 17 (A).
  6. No whimsical transfer of employees, consequent to the implementation of VRS.

Action Programme:

 

  1. Lunch hour demonstrations on 11.02.2020.
  2. Hunger strike at all levels on 24.02.2020.

COM.BINOY VISWAM MP (RS) MET BY AIBDPA DELEGATION ON PENSION REVISION.

AIBDPA delegation consisting of Coms.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary, N Guruprasad, Circle Secretary and P Surendran, District Secretary had a nice meeting with Com.Binoy Viswam MP,(RS) at Alappuzha on 05-02-2020. The delegation brought to his notice, the burning issue of pension revision of BSNL absorbed retirees and sought his help and intervention for an amicable solution. They handed over a letter in this regard and a copy of the memorandum being submitted to the Prime Minister.

Com.Binoy Viswam assured the delegation all the possible efforts to take up the issue with the government.

KOLLAM DISTRICT CONVENTION HELD WITH GOOD PARTICIPATION.

Kollam District Convention has been held at K G Bosse Bhavan, Kollam on 05-02-2020. Com.K Sukumaran Nair presided over  the convention. Com.N.Sasidharan Nair, District Secretary welcomed the gathering.

Inaugurating the convention Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary explained the issues of pension revision, denial of medical facilities and the struggles being waged as per the decision of Guwahati CEC meeting. He also gave a good account of developments that culminated in the mass VRS in BSNL. General Secretary assured the VRS retirees that AIBDPA is committed to take up their issues and narrated what have already been done.

Com.R A Nair, CHQ Treasurer and Circle President delivered a special address and dealt on the anti-PSU policy of the central government and the attack on LIC. Coms.C M Pillai, District Secretary, BSNLEU, K Mohanan Pillai, Circle Vice President, M D Rajan, Circle Organising Secretary and C John, VRS retiree addressed.

PATHANAMTHITTA DISTRICT CONVENTION HELD SUCCESSFULLY.

Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary inaugurated the Pathanamthitta District Convention on 04-02-2020. Com.O M Kunjutty controlled the proceedings. Com.M G S Kurup, District Secretary welcomed all the participants. General Secretary in his elaborate inaugural address covered the issues of pension revision and the 4 phased agitational programme being launched, denial of medical benefits, Revival of BSNL, issues of the VRS retirees and the serious situation prevailing in the country due to CAA,NCR and NPA.

Com.N Guruprasad, Circle Secretary in his address dealt on organisational issues and appealed to strengthen AIBDPA further for achieving our genuine demands. Coms.A K Gopalan, District Secretary, AIPRPA, K K Jagadamma, Convenor, NFPE and Ajikumar, District President, BSNLEU also addressed the convention. With vote of thanks by Com.Vijayamma S Pillai, Circle Organising Secretary, the convention came to an end.Â
