Pandit Jasraj, the legendary classical vocalist has passed away at his home in New Jersy, USA on 17-08-2020. He was 90 and breathed his last due to cardiac arrest. His performances in classical and semi- classical vocals, spanning 80 years,  earned him national and international fame. He was receipient of several prestigious awards, including Padma Vibhushan. He taught music not only in India but also in countries like USA and Canada. His soft and melodious music will be remembered for years.

AIBDPA pays respectful homage to the Great Musician and conveys heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends.

CHQ is quite aware of the preparations in all the circles to hold the Standing Dharna from 1100hrs to 1200 hrs on 19-08-2020. The protest Dharna is warranted due to the negative and discriminative stand of the BSNL managemnt by not making payment of medical allowance and medical reimbursement to the retirees since the last two years. CHQ has made all out efforts to settle the issue without any agitation; we discussed the matter seriously with the CMD and other top officers of BSNL several times, we wrote to the Secretary, DoT, Hon’ble Minister of Communications and finally brought the issue to the notice of Hon’ble Prime Minister but no positive response was received.

The CMD repeatedly took the stand that no payment could be made to the retirees due to poor finacial condition of BSNL . But this was contrary to his earlier assurance to the effect that once the VRS is implemented and the wage bill goes down more than 50%, BSNL will be in a better position and may be able to pay the pending medical bills and allowance. Unfortunately even after seven months of the VRS, the BSNL management has failed to implement the assurance. At the same time, the BSNL management had no hesitation to pay the medical bills of serving employees upto September, 2019 along with the salary of June,2020. This double standard of the BSNL management has exposed its negligence and discrimination towards the BSNL retirees who are put into utter distress due to non-payment of medical allowance and bills.

Under these compelling situation we had no other option other than to go for an agitation despite the Covid-19 pandemic. So,Comrades, let us hold it at maximum centres in each District, as the participation is limited to 5 to 10. Give maximum publicity of the programme through the media also, both print and visual. Please take photos and send to the CHQ with brief report.  

India is celebrating its 74th Independence Day on 15th August, 2020 amidst many challenges. This time, apart from other things, Covid-19 pandemic is being hit the country very dangerously. The poor people and the workers are the worst affected; 13 crore workers have lost their jobs. No financial help has been granted to these workers , particularly the migrated workers even though a Rs.20 lack package was declared by the central government . Labour laws are being suspended and amended to suit the intersts of the employers.

Public Sector Enterprises in the country is contributing much to the Indian Economy which is facing big attack from the central government. BSNL  is no exception, the revival package declared for BSNL and MTNL , as per the decision of central cabinet on 23-10-2019 still remains in paper only . Of course they have retrenched 78,569 BSNL employees in the name of VRS, one of the components of the revival package. The tender floated by BSNL for the 4G services had to be cancelled on the intervention of the goverment. BSNL employees and pensioners are denied wage revision and pension revision due from 01-01-2017. Medical reimbursement and medical allowance is not being paid to BSNL pensioners for the last two years, putting the aged and ailing pensioners to utter distress.

The unity and integrity of the country is under great threat due the continued attacks on the secular fabric of the country. The divisive communal agenda of the sangh parivar is being implemented with active patronage and support of the government.

So let us pledge on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day to continue the fight to protect the freedom of the country ensuring unity, democracy, integrity and secularism which is the integral part of the Indian Constitution..

Let us also continue our fight for the revival of BSNL, wage revision, pension revision , immediate payment of pending medical bills and allowance and other imporatnt issues.

Shocking sad news! Com.S.S.Roy, Working President of NCCPA and veteran leader of NFPE passed away today at Kolkata after a massive heart attack. He was tested positive with COVID-19 and was in the hospital.

Com.S.S.Roy was closely connected with the P&T Trade Union movement and was Assistant General Secretary of P.III Union. He also was connected with the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers. In the last AIC of NCCPA he was elected as the Working President of NCCPA. He had attended the recent meeting of the NCCPA Executive Committee.

His death is a great loss. AIBDPA conveys its heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family, friends and comrades.

Organise Lunch Hour protest demonstrations and Twitter Campaign tomorrow the 13-08-2020.

The AUAB has decided to organise lunch hour protest demonstrations tomorrow the 13-08-2020, to condemn Shri Anantkumar Hedge, MP, for his maligning and derogatory statement against BSNL employees. The AUAB also calls upon the employees to organise a Twitter Campaign, between 11:00 hrs and 13 :00 hrs tomorrow, on this matter

BJP MP, Shri. Ananthakumar Hegde from Karnataka has made some most condemnable and baseless allegations against BSNL and its employees. It is reported that while participating in a public function at Uttara Kannada,  Shri.Ananthakumar Hegde has stated that all BSNL employees are Desh Dhrohis and BSNL has become a black mark for the entire country and the government will finish it. He continued his utterances and further stated that despite Prime Minister providing fund and technology, the employees are not willing to work. So the government has decided to fire the entire employees and privatise BSNL.

It is well known to the people of the country that it is BSNL alone for their rescue by restoring communication facilities swiftly when natural calamities hit and how selflessly the BSNL employees rise to the occasion. The government has always tried to weaken BSNL by promoting the private telecom companies unduely. The revival package declared by the government in October, 2019 is yet to be implemented barring the retrenchement of 78,569 BSNL employees in the name of VRS. Starting of 4G service by BSNL has become uncertain with the cancellation of tender by BSNL on the intervention of the government. Inspite of all these attacks and hurdles, it is the commitment of the employees that BSNL is still sustaining.
