Varghese Kurien, father of White Revolution is no more

Varghese Kurien(90), who saved the dairy farmers from exploitation and poverty with his socialist vision by building cooperative movement for them, breathed his last on Sunday.
All the unprecedent success of his movement made him a legend and for the country self relient in milk production.

Telecom user base drops by 20.71 million

The telecom subscriber base fell to 944.81 million in July from 965.52 million in June. The July subscriber base report released bt TRAI says it is first ever decline in the country. The vast majority od decline is in wireless segment, 20.16 million. Reliance Communications topped the list with a loss of 20.48 million users followed by Tata Teleservices, Uninor, Videocon, Loop and MTNL

Karnataka Circle Conference held

Karnataka Circle Conference has been held successfully on 2nd September at Bijapur. Com K G Jayaraj, General Secretary was scheduled to attend but he could not participate as he is undergoing an ayurvedic treatment and indisposed. Com R B Patil and Com. K G Deshpande have been reelected as President and Circle Secretary.

Supreme Court orders Sahara to refund Rs.24400 Cr to investors

Two Sahara compaies which collected Rs.40000 Cr towards debentures are directed by the apex court to refund Rs.24400 Cr to the depositors as the whole affair seems to be doubtful and dubious. The court also made it clear that the investors should be paid 15% interest for thier deposits. So beware of such companies while you invest your hard earned money.

More support to Ecuador on Assange

Organisation of American States declared solidarity and support on Friday for Ecuador in its dispute with Britian over granting asylum to Wiki Leaks founder Julian Assange.
