NATIONAL CONVENTION OF CENTRAL GOVT PENSIONERS HELD SUCCESSFULLY AT HYDERABAD.

Naional Co- Ordinating Committee of Pensioners Associations successfully organised a historical National Convention at Hyderabad on 31-07-2015. The convention started at 10.30PM at Sundarayya Vingnana Kendram, with Com.D.V.Daktod, Vice President , NCCPAin the chair.Com.M.N.Reddy, General Secretary, All Pensioners and Retired Persons Association and Secretary, Reception Committee welcomed. Com.S..K.Vyas’s portrait was garlanded and rich tributes offered. Com.Pabitra Chakraborty, Secretary General made the introductory speech on the important issues.

Com.A.K.Padmanabhan, President, CITU inaugurated the convention with an inspiring speech exposing thouroughly the central govt’s anti-worker and anti- people measures on which the central trade unions and independent federations have decided a National Strike on 2nd September, 2015. Com.Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary andSecretary, Staff side, JCM, National Council delivered a special address and exhorted to make the indefinitestrike of central government employees including Railways from 23rd November a grand success.Com.K.K.N.Kutty, President, Confederation of Central Govt.Employees and workers,Com.S.N.Pathak, President,AIDEF, Com.M.R.Jadav, EPF95 Pensioners Association, Com.P.S.Nair, All India Para Military Pensioners Association, Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary, AIBDPA, Com.K.Raghavendran, General Secretary, AIPRPA  addressed the convention.

16 comrades representing various affiliated organisations participated in the discussion. om.D.Basu, CHQ AGS and Com.T.Seshaiah, District Secretary also spoke represeting 22 delegates of AIBDPA. Com.Pabitra Chakraborty summed up the discussion.

The National Convention decided to

1.Support the National Strike on September 2, 2015.

2.To organise solidarity program in support of the Indefinite Strike from 23, November,2015.

3.Support the ex-servicemen’s struggle for one rank one pension.

With the concluding remarks by Com.D.V.Daktod and thanking the Reception Committee for the excellent arrangements, the convention came to an end at 8.30.PM.

AT LAST CENTRAL GOVERNMENT COMPELLED TO ISSUE ORDERS ON MODIFIED PARITY WITH EFFECT FROM 01-01-2006.

All attempts of the central government to deny the arrears of the modified Parity from 01.01.2006 having been failed, the government has issued the orders on 30th July,2015 in this regard. The operative portion of the orders No.38/37/08-P&PW by the Department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare is given below;

“In compliance with the above judicial pronouncements,it ha been decided that the pension/ family pension of all pensioners/ family pensioners may be revised in accordance with the Department OM No.38/37/08-P & PW(A) dated 28-01-2013 with effect from 01-01-2006 in stead of 24-09-2012.”

62nd ANNIVERSARY OF CUBAN REVOLUTION CELEBRATED.

The 62nd Anniversary of Cuban Revolution was celebrated in Cuba on 26th July 2015.

Santiago De Cuba, Jul 26 Cuba marked the anniversary of Fidel Castro’s first armed uprising 62 years ago today with calls for an end to the US embargo and the return of the US naval base at Guantanamo.

The ceremony — attended by Cuban president Raul Castro and some 10,000 of the country’s ruling elite and their guests but not by the frail 88-year-old Fidel — was the first since the restoration of relations with the United States.

“Now begins a long and complex road toward the normalisation of bilateral relations, which includes, among other things, the end of the blockade and the return of the Guantanamo naval base,” said Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, the number two of Cuba’s communist party.

NATIONAL CONVENTION OF CENTRAL GOVT.PENSIONERS AT HYDERABAD ON 31-07-2015.

National Co-ordination Committee of Pensioners Associations (NCCPA) is organizing an ALL INDIA CONVENTION of Central Government Pensioners on 31st July, 2015 at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Bagh Lingampally, Hyderabad, Telangana State.

The convention is being held at a time when the 7th Central Pay Commission is finalizing its report and also the entire central government organisations decided for an indefinite strike from 23rd November, 2015 demanding Interim Relief, Merger of DA,  implementation of the 7th pay revision from 01-01-2014 and other important issues. The Central Trade Unions have decided for a country wide strike on 2nd September, 2015 on its 12 point charter of demands and all the central,state and public sector employees also joining the strike it would be a complete national strike.

The National Convention is certain to discuss the main issues confronting the pensioners viz, Scrap NPS & PFRDA Act, Pension be 67% of last pay, Pension Parity, Minimum Pension be minimum pay, Restoration of Commutation after 12 years, Additional Pension from 65 years,Monthly Medical Allowance of Rs. 2000+ DA, Smart card for indoor treatment etc. The convention will take appropriate decisions for solidarity program in support of the National Strike by the central trade unions and the indefinite strike of the central government employees.

Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary, Com.D.Basu, Asst.General Secretary, Com.B.P.Petkar, Asst.General Secretary & Circle Secretary, Maharashtra, Com.Ramachandradu, Circle Secretary, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and about 16 comrades from AP & Telangana will constitute the AIBDPA delegation in the convention.

CCLU KERALA AGITATION – COM.V.A.N.NAMBOODIRI SEEKS IMMEDIATE INTERVENTION OF CMD,BSNL.

The Hunger Strike by the CCLU leaders in Kerala has reached the 23rd day. Both the CCLU and BSNLEU leaders are on Hunger Strike demanding increased minimum wage, upgrading the workers to skilled cadres etc. No fruitful discussion has taken so far. Instead victimization is continuing. BSNLEU comrades been issued with dies-non and show cause notices. SNEA District Secretary has been transferred for supporting the agitation.  Circle office-bearers of BSNLEU are being victimised.

On the other hand more and more support and solidarity is coming for the fully justified struggle from the workers and from many other trade unions. Many comrades sitting on hunger strike have been hospitalised. The struggle is getting more and more momentum.

Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, President, BSNLCCWF and Patron BSNLEU, who is in UK contacted Shri Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL today and intimated the serious situation in Kerala due to the adamant stand taken by the CGM  and asked to intervene and settle the issue. CMD stated he has already spoken to the CGM in the matter. He stated that the CGM has been asked to discuss with the union to settle the issue.

SHRI. HARIKUMAR.S, CHIEF ENGINEER (CIVIL), BSNL, KERALA CIRCLE JOINED AIBDPA ON RETIREMENT.

Shri.S.Harikumar, Chief Engineer (Civil) ,BSNL,Kerala Circle has become the life member of AIBDPA on his retirement on 30-05-2015 .

Shri.S.Harikumar , ever since his joining duty, was having very good relationship with all the staff irrespective of executive or non-executive. He played a significant role in the construction of P&T House, Thiruvananthapuram. CHQ whole heartedly welcome Shri.Harikumar to the AIBDPA family.

NATIONAL CONVENTION OF PUBLIC SECTOR TRADE UNIONS IN BENGALURU.

The National Convention of Central Public Sector Trade Unions held at Bengaluru on 25th July 2015, participated by delegates from Central Trade Unions and Independent Federations has decided to ensure that all the  employees fully participate in the 2nd September 2015 Strike. The Strike is called jointly by the 11 Central Trade Unions and Independent Federations of CG Employees, State government Employees, PSU Unions etc. demanding among others Rs. 15,000 minimum wage for contract workers, halt to price rise, protesting against the move to amend the labour laws etc.

The 2nd September 2015 General Strike is going to be the biggest strike in free India. It is every worker’s duty not only to participate, but to ensure that all workers fully participate in the same and the message goes through out the country that the workers are not going to tolerate the anti-worker policy of the government.

KOLKATA ETR FULL FLEDGED BRANCH FORMED.

A meeting of the pensioners belonging to BSNL and DOT within the limit of ETR, Kolkata was held at Telephone Bhawan, Kolkata on 25-07-2015 and formed a full fledged Branch of ETR, Kolkata. Com.Susanta Ghosh, Circle Secretary inaugurated the meeting. Coms.Ashis Das, District Secretary, BSNLEU, ETR, Kolkata and Saroj Ghosh, Adhoc President, AIBDPA,ETR presided jointly. Com.P.K.Modak, Adhoc Secretary welcomed the gathering.

Com.Animesh Mitra, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, West Bengal, Com. Ajit Nandan, District Secretary, Kolkata and Com. Pijush Chakraborty, ACS addressed. A full fledged Branch Committee was elected unanimously with Com.Ramtanu Mandol (President), Com. P.K.Modak (Secretary) and Com.Suresh Ganguly (Treasurer)
