RBI Introduces ₹ 200 denomination banknote

The Reserve Bank of India will issue on August 25, 2017 ₹ 200 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, bearing signature of Dr. Urjit R. Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India from select RBI offices, and some banks. The new denomination has Motif of Sanchi Stupa on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage. The base colour of the note is Bright Yellow. The note has other designs, geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme, both at the obverse and reverse.

Tamil Nadu Circle Executive Committee Meeting has been held at the conference hall, Telephone Exchange, Pondicherry on 26-08-2017. The CEC started with the flags hoisting; National Flag by Com.Mathialagan, senior leader, Pondicherry and AIBDPA flag by Com. K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary.

Com.P.Manickamurthy, Circle President controlled the proceedings. Coma.Sakthivel, District Secretary, Pondicherry on behalf of the Reception Committee and Com.N.Kuppusamy, Asst Circle Secretary for the Circle, welcomed all the participants.

Inaugurating the CEC, Com.K.G.Jayaraj spoke elaborately on the issues confronting the pensioners including the efforts being taken for pay revision as well as pension revision. The decisions of the National Executive of NCCPA held at Nagpur on 19–08-2017 were also reported. He congratulated the Tamil Nadu comrades for the sincere efforts being taken for strengthening AIBDPA and appealed to continue this important task with more vigour.

Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary inaugurated the convention explaining in detail the present position about the wage revision and pension revision in BSNL. He also briefed on the decisions of the National Convention of workers held at New Delhi on 08-08-2017 and the National Executive of NCCPA held at Nagpur on 19-08-2017.

Sub: Opening of a Central Govt. Health Scheme, Wellness Centre (allopathic) at Imphal

This is for information to all eligible Central Govt. employees / pensioners and other stake holders that, a Central Govt. Health Scheme (CGHS) Wellness Centre sanctioned vide Govt. of India, Min. of Health & Family Welfare, CGHS (P) Division Order No.S.11045/1/2013/HEC, New Delhi dated 17th November 2014, will be functioning by 28th August 2017 at Ground Floor, MVHA building, Wangkhei, Ningthem, Pukhri, Mapan, Imphal – 795 001 to provide comprehensive medical facilities to the beneficiaries.

The scheme will cover the Imphal city and all eligible Central Govt. employees and their dependent family members, Central Govt. pensioners and their dependents and others eligible as per CGHS guideline residing in Imphal city.

The working hours of the CGHS Wellness Centre will be from 7:30 am to 02:00 pm in all working days except Sundays & holidays.

The 3rd biennial Conference of Kolkata Telecom Factory District was held at the Club hall of Telecom Factory, Alipore in an enthusiastic atmosphere on 23-08-2017. The senior most veteran leader of the P&T Trade union movement, Com.Sisir Bhattacharjee inaugurated the conference with a brief but inspiring speech. Com.Sujit Mukherjee presided. Com.Adhir Kumar Sen, Circle Secretary spoke elaborately on the current developments and issues confronting the pensioners. Com.Om Prakash Singh, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU also addressed. The report and accounts presented by Coms. Bakul Ghosh, Dist Secretary and Sita Ram, Treasurer were adopted after discussion.

Coms Santhosh Bhattacharjee, Benoy Bose and C.Sita Ram were elected unanimously as President, District Secretary and Treasurer.

CIRCLE SECRETARIES ARE REQUESTED TO URGENTLY INTERVENE IN THE MATTER SO THAT NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN RESPECT OF THE PRE 2016 DOT PENSIONERS ARE FORWARDED TO THE CONCERNED CCAs.

Wage Revision talks in Coal India Limited – Lessons for BSNL.

Negotiations for wage revision have already started in the Public Sector Company of Coal India Ltd. All the Central Trade Unions, including the BMS, have joined together and are negotiating unitedly with the Management. The unions demand 25% fitment. However, the Management offered to give 10% only. Having seen that all the unions have joined together, Management is now compelled to give an offer for 18% fitment. However, unions have not accepted this offer and are insisting for more fitment. It is also to be noted that the unions in the Coal sector demand 25% fitment for a period of 5 years. As per our information, the unions may achieve more than 20% fitment, for a 5 year period. It is also significant to note that as per the recommendations of the 3rd PRC, maximum fitment is only 15% for a period of 10 years. 3rd PRC recommendations are applicable to Coal India Ltd. also. However, through their unity, the Coal India Limited Unions are going to achieve more than what is recommended by the 3rd PRC, in terms quantum of fitment and periodicity. Unions and associations of BSNL have to learn lessons from the unity of the trade unions of Coal India Ltd.
