PATHANAMTHITTA DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD SUCCESSFULLY.

The 5th biennial District Conference of Pathanamthitta was held at YMCA hall, Pathanamthitta on 23-10-2018. Com.N.Guruprasad, Circle Secretary inaugurated with a detailed speech on the important issues of the pensioners with special focus on pension revision and also organisational matters of ensuing Circle Conference and AIC. Com.M.G.S.Kurup, District President controlled the proceedings. Coms.John (BSNLEU), S.S.Nair (AIPRPA), Jagadamma(NFPE) greeted the conference. The biennial report and audited accounts presented by Coms.C.P.Pappy, District Secretary and V.J.Gopinathan, Treasurer were adopted after discussion.

New set of office bearers were elected unanimously with Com.C.P.Pappy (President), Com.M.G.S.Kurup (District Secretary) and Com.V.J.Gopinathan (Treasurer)

Palestine – Gaza : STOP to the Israeli air strikes and blockades!

on 17th October morning Israel unleashed new air strikes against targets along Gaza Strip, while the Israeli Minister for Defense ordered the closure of the Erez and Kerem Shalom crossing points as well as the  restriction of the Gaza fishing zone from 6 to 3 miles.

On the behalf of 95 million workers in 130 countries all over the world, the WFTU condemns this new escalation of Israeli aggressiveness against the people of Palestine.

Since last March, more than 200 Palestinians have been murdered by the Israeli army, during their protests for their legitimate rights: the end of the Israeli blockades and the return of the Palestinian Refugees to their homeland.

We extend our internationalist solidarity with the people of Palestine and we demand:

STOP TO THE ISRAELI MILITARY OPERATIONS AND OCCUPATION! RECOGNITION OF THE INDEPENTENT PALESTINIAN STATE WITHIN 1967 BORDERS WITH EAST JERUSALEM AS ITS CAPITAL!
