The bimonthly journal of Tamil Nadu Circle, “Oyvudiyar Muzhakkam” (Pensioners Slogan) was released on 18-03-2025 at Chennai in an enthusiastic and festive atmosphere. The first copy was released by Com.C K Narasimhan, Circle Advisor by handing over the journal to Com.S Chellappa, AGS, BSNLEU. Com. Jnanasekaran, Circle President presided. Com.Berlin Kanagaraj, ACS welcomed one and all. Com.R Rajasekar , Circle Secretary delivered the introductory speech and read out the messages of Coms.V A N Namboodiri, Advisor and K G Jayaraj, General Secretary. Coms. P Manickamurthy, Ex Circle Vice President, V Ramakrishnan, M Meghanathan, K Srinivasan, ACS,BSNLEU and P Murugan,I M Mathialagan, K George, Vijayakumar (All District Secretaries greeted.

Subscription from many comrades were received during the function. With vote of thanks by Com. P Saravanan, Assistant Treasurer the function came to an end.

The 6th District Conference of Hassan,Karnataka was held on 18-03-2025 under the presidentship of Com. S A Ramachandra, District President. The conference was addressed by Coms.Muddiah,Circle Secretary, H C Prakash, AGS, Earanna, CHQ Organising Secretary and L D Durgad, Circle President. All the leaders explained the issues including pension revision, medical issues and the struggles conducted. The growth of AIBDPA as the largest pensioners organisation of BSNL DOT retirees was highlighted. Earlir, Com,S Nagaraj, District Secretary welcomed all and presented the report and accounts which were adopted after discussion.

Coms. M D Krishna Gowda, S A Ramachandra and Chandra Shetty were elected unanimously as President, Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

International Womens Day was celebrated by the Kannur District Branch on 08-03-2025 at the BSNL Conference hall, Kannur. Com. P M Aleyamma, President, Womens Committee presided . Advt K K Retnakumari, District Panjayath President inaugurated. Shri. Nizar Kooloth, Excise Preventive Officer spoke on the subject ” Drugs and its social implications.” Com. K V Rema Devi, Convenor,, Womens Sub Committee delivered the welcome speech and Com. T N Latha proposed vote of thanks. Entertainment programmes were also held.

On 09th March 2025, a pensioners meet was organized in Vigyan Nagar, Kota Auditorium under the aegis of AIBDPA Kota. In this ceremony, the senior-most pensioners (75 years and above) were honored by giving a memento by the General Manager BSNL Kota. And a telephone directory of telephone numbers of all the pensioners of Kota was also released. Circle Secretary Comrade MK Nagpal, Circle President Comrade SN Nangal, CHQ Organization Secretary Comrade Harinarayan and Assistant Circle Secretary Comrade Harish Sharma also participated in this ceremony. 350 pensioners participated enthusiastically.

The 4th Circle Conference of Chennai Telephones was held in an enthusiastic atmosphere at Maharashtra Bhawan ( Com.Vijayalakshmi Arangam) ,Chennai on 08-03-2024. Com.V Kuppan, Circle President presided over the conference. Com.K Govindaraj, Circle Secretary and Com. K Elango, Chairman, Reception Committee delivered the welcome address.

Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary in his inaugural address dealt on the important issues of the pensioners including BSNL MRS, CGHS, Restoration of OPS, Pension Revision, Restoration of Commutation, Notional increment , our task on 8th Pay Commission and the struggles being launched by AIBDPA, Joint Forum, CoC & NCCPA . He appealed to successfully implement the “Meet the Pensioner” campaign decided by the Central Executive Committee meeting held at New Delhi on 12-11-2024. Com .V A N Namboodiri, Advisor delivered the keynote address and exposed the anti-people and anti-pensioner policy of Modi government and stressed to further strengthen AIBDPA to face the harder challenges and achieve the genuine demands.

Com.S Chellappa, AGS, BSNLEU addressed the conference and gave the present status on discussion on wage revision and the attempts of Modi government to weaken BSNL by not allowing to launch 4G despite tall declarations of revival packages. Shri. S Parthipan, CGM, Chennai Telephones greeted the conference and assured all the possible help for early resolution of pensioners issues. Coms. P Mohan, Circle Secretary, AIPRPA, R Rajasekar, Circle Secretary, AIBDPA, Tamil Nadu, M Sreedhar Subramonian, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Chennai Telephones, S Pasha, Circle Secretary, BSNL CCWF also addressed. 60 senior delegate comrades above 70 were honoured by Com.V A N Namboodiri , Advisor and Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary. With vote of thanks by Com.G S Narasimhan, ACS the inaugural session was concluded.

The Day of the conference being International Womens’ Day, Com. Baby Shakeela, Vice President , DREU spoke on the issues of the women and their empowerment which was applauded by all, particularly more than 50 lady delegates.

The delegates session was inaugurated by Com. S Mohandoss, CHQ Vice President who emphasized on organisational issues. Thereafter, Com.K Govindaraj, Circle Secretary presented the report and Com.N Panjaksharam placed the audited accounts. The discussion was summed up by both Com.K Govindaraj, Circle Secretary and Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary after which report and accounts were adopted. Resolutions on various issues were also adopted.
