The Union Cabinet has today, the 28th October, 2025 has finally formed the 8th Central Pay Commission after 10 months of declaration in January, 2025.

The three member Commission will be headed by Retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai. The other members are;

Prof. Pulak Ghosh, Professor, IIM Bangalore (Member, Part Time) and Shri Pankaj Jain, Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas (Member, Secretary)

The Terms of Reference also has been released.
