The 4th Circle Conference of Chennai Telephones was held in an enthusiastic atmosphere at Maharashtra Bhawan ( Com.Vijayalakshmi Arangam) ,Chennai on 08-03-2024. Com.V Kuppan, Circle President presided over the conference. Com.K Govindaraj, Circle Secretary and Com. K Elango, Chairman, Reception Committee delivered the welcome address.
Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary in his inaugural address dealt on the important issues of the pensioners including BSNL MRS, CGHS, Restoration of OPS, Pension Revision, Restoration of Commutation, Notional increment , our task on 8th Pay Commission and the struggles being launched by AIBDPA, Joint Forum, CoC & NCCPA . He appealed to successfully implement the “Meet the Pensioner” campaign decided by the Central Executive Committee meeting held at New Delhi on 12-11-2024. Com .V A N Namboodiri, Advisor delivered the keynote address and exposed the anti-people and anti-pensioner policy of Modi government and stressed to further strengthen AIBDPA to face the harder challenges and achieve the genuine demands.
Com.S Chellappa, AGS, BSNLEU addressed the conference and gave the present status on discussion on wage revision and the attempts of Modi government to weaken BSNL by not allowing to launch 4G despite tall declarations of revival packages. Shri. S Parthipan, CGM, Chennai Telephones greeted the conference and assured all the possible help for early resolution of pensioners issues. Coms. P Mohan, Circle Secretary, AIPRPA, R Rajasekar, Circle Secretary, AIBDPA, Tamil Nadu, M Sreedhar Subramonian, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Chennai Telephones, S Pasha, Circle Secretary, BSNL CCWF also addressed. 60 senior delegate comrades above 70 were honoured by Com.V A N Namboodiri , Advisor and Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary. With vote of thanks by Com.G S Narasimhan, ACS the inaugural session was concluded.
The Day of the conference being International Womens’ Day, Com. Baby Shakeela, Vice President , DREU spoke on the issues of the women and their empowerment which was applauded by all, particularly more than 50 lady delegates.
The delegates session was inaugurated by Com. S Mohandoss, CHQ Vice President who emphasized on organisational issues. Thereafter, Com.K Govindaraj, Circle Secretary presented the report and Com.N Panjaksharam placed the audited accounts. The discussion was summed up by both Com.K Govindaraj, Circle Secretary and Com.K G Jayaraj, General Secretary after which report and accounts were adopted. Resolutions on various issues were also adopted.
