The two days Kerala Circle Conference held at Com.G.Soman Nagar (RTTC), Thiruvananthapuram on 7th & 8th October, 2014 instilled great inspiration to all the participants. The conference kick started with flag hoisting by Com. P. V. Chandrasekharan, Circle President and offering tribute to the martyrs.
The open session was inaugurated by Com. T. M. Thomas Isac, MLA and former Finance Minister who criticized strongly both the UPA and NDA for scuttling the defined benefit pension scheme and exposed the game plan of the government in weakening BSNL for the sake of the private telecom companies. Com. P. V. Chandrasekharan, Circle President was in chair. Advt.K.Chandrika, worshipful Mayor, Thiruvananthapuram and Chair-person, Reception Committee welcomed the gathering Com. V. A. N. Namboodiri, Advisor and President, BSNLEU delivered the key note address. He gave a good account of the recent developments with regard to the pensioners issues, memorandum submitted to the 7th Pay Commission and the preliminary discussion had with the Pay Commission, Coimbatore CEC decisions and the Sanchar Bhawan March on 20th November, 2014. Com. M. Krishnan, Secretary General, Confederation, Com. A Sreekumar, General Secretary, FSETO, Com. C. C. Pillai, Patron, AIPRPA, Com. George Varghese, Circle Secretary, SNEA, Com. M. Syamkumar, Circle President, AIBSNLEA, K. Mohanan, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, Com. M. C. Nair, State Vice President, CGPA, Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary and Com. V. Kesavan, Circle Patron addressed the open session. Com. N. Vikraman Nair, General Convenor, Reception Committee proposed vote of thanks.
The delegates session was started at 9AM on 8th October with Com. P. V. Chandrasekharan, President and Vice Presidents in the presidium. Inaugurating the delegates session, Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary explained all the issues and appealed to make the Sanchar Bhawan March a great success. Com. N. Ramesan, Circle Secretary presented the biennial report and Com. K. J. Sanalkumar placed the audited accounts. In the discussion that followed 27 comrades,representing the 10 district branches participated and gave valuable suggestions.Intervening in the discussion, Com. V. A. N. Namboodiri clarified certain points raised by the delegates. Com. R. Muraleedharan Nair, AGS, BSNLEU and Com. Padmanabhan Nair, General Secretary, BSNL Security Staff Association offered greetings. Com. M. P. Kunjanandan, CHQ Treasurer addressed briefly. Com.N. Ramesan, Circle Secretary and Com. K.J. Sanal Kumar,Treasurer replied to the discussion after which both report and accounts were adopted. Resolutions on important issues, presented by Com. K. Damodaran, Convenor, Resolution Committee were adopted.

Com.R. Aravindakshan Nair ,the newly elected President assured the conference that he will put all out efforts to strengthen the organization further with the co-operation of the veteran leaders in the Circle Executive Committee.. The conference came to an end with vote of thanks by Com. N. Guruprasad, Circle Secretary. Though there was some restriction in the number of delegates due to the limitations for accommodation etc, 448 delegates participated. The discipline maintained by the delegates through out the conference was really praiseworthy and the Reception Committee took extra care to make excellent arrangements for the spectacular success of the conference.
