A convention of eminent personalities, representatives of all Trade Unions, organizations of employees and officers of Central-State Govt and PSUs was held at Kannur on 8th August 2012 for the formation of the Reception Committee for the 1st All India Conference of AIBDPA. The convention was inaugurated by State Committee member of CPI(M) Com.M.V.Jayarajan (Ex MLA). Com.P.V.Chandrasekharan, Circle President presided. Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary, AIBDPA addressed the house. The former Minister of Kerala and Ex MP Sri.Ramachandran Kadannapally (Cong.S) attended. Prof.M.V.Sarala, (President, District Panchayath), Com.T.Ramakrishnan (CITU), Thavam Balakrishnan (AITUC), K.C.Harikrishnan (KSTA), R.Sunilkumar (NGO Union), K.Mohan (Circle Secretary,BSNLEU), M.Sahadevan (Confederation of Central Govt.Employees and Workers), Karayi Sreedharan, veteran leader of the P&T movement, U.Preman(TEPU) and P.Manoharan (Dist.Secretary,BSNLEU) spoke.

A 501 member Reception Committee was formed with Com.M.Prakasan (Ex MLA) as Chairman, P.V.Unnikrishnan (Working Chairman), R.Sunilkumar, N.Balakrishnan, V.P.Aboobacker, P.P.Krishnan (Vice Chairmen) K.Kunhiraman (General Convener) , P.Manoharan,M.Baburaj, K.K.Prakashan, K.Ramachandran (Conveners) and T.V.Janardanan (Treasurer) was formed. Com.K.Kunhiraman welcomed the gathering and Com.P.V.Unnikrishnan proposed vote of thanks.
