Reports has been received about the first anniversary of the foundation
day of AIBDPA celebrated on 21 st October 2010 through out the country
by conducting various programs.In Alappuzha district (Kerala) a family
get together of the pensioners and a medical camp was held in connection
with the annual day.Com.K Jayaraj Gen Secretary inaugurated the
meeting.Doctors from medical college conducted classes regarding heart
and eye diseases.Com .B.K Madhavan Nair ( branch treasurer) handed over a
declaration to the effect that his body will be given to the Medical
college students for their studies.Some other comrades gave the consent
letter for donating their eyes.Com V.Achuthan and Com.Meenakshy Ammal
who participated in the 1960 historic strike was honored.

ASSAM CIRCLE CONFERENCE, held at GUWAHATI on 23.09.2010.
Assam Circle conference of AIBDPA held at Guwahati on
23.09.2010. More than 200 delegates from all parts of Assam participated.
The Conference started with flag hoisting and floral tribute
to the martyrs. Com.Manubendra Saha presided.
Com.B.P.Bhattacharjee,Chairman ,Reception Committee welcomed the gathering.
The souvenir
brought out in connection with the Circle Conference was formally released by
Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary. Com.Jayaraj in his speech narrated the
background under which AIBDPA was formed and the advancement made at the
organizational level so far. The main issues confronting BSNL DOT pensioners ,
viz Pension revision , Anomaly In pension, Medical allowance of Rs.1000 to DOT
Pensioners etc were explained and the present
position of each of these issues were also clarified .The decisions of central
executive committee meeting held at New Delhi on 19.09.2010 mainly agitational programmes
also was reported .He appealed to
support the three days strike being organized by the JAC(Joint action
committee) of BSNL unions from 19th October 2010 to protect BSNL.
As the CGMT was out of station, Shri. U N Mohali ,GM(Admin)
o/o CGMT addressed on behalf of CGMT. Mrs. S.P Zahir, CCA (DOT Cell) Promised
all help at her level to settle the pensioners claims at the earliest.

Issues agreed to by the former CMD BSNL be implemented
The following issues were agreed to by Shri Kuldeep Goyal, then CMD BSNL on 10-06-2010 during the discussions AIBDPA leaders had with him:
- Quarters lying vacant will be allotted to the pensioners on standard rent basis.
- Rs. 15,000/- be granted to meet the funeral expenditure of the pensioner.
- Subsequent IDAs also be calculated for annual limit for out door treatment for BSNL retirees.
- BSNL DOT Pensioners be given broad band connections at the same concessional rates be given to serving employees.
- BSNLMRS be extended to the family pensioners.
CHQ AIBDPA in a letter to Shri Gopal Das, CMD BSNL has demanded early follow up action so that these issues can be settled at BSNL level.
Pension Anomaly – AIBDPA writes to the Secretary, Dept. of Expenditure.
There has been inordinate delay in getting financial concurrence from Department of Expenditure for the proposal to settle pension anomaly of absorbed retired BSNL employees, retired with ten months of BSNL formation. AIBDPA in its letter to the Secretary, Department of Expenditure has urged for early financial concurrence.
Pension Revision
The Cabinet Note for Pension Revision for pre-2007 retirees was simultaneously sent to the Department of Expenditure, Law, Pension and Pension welfare and DPE. It has been received back from the first three departments according to the information given by DOT. When the file is received back from DPE also, for which efforts are being made,the cabinet note will be compiled with suggestions, if any, from the other departments. Then it will be first submitted to the Honerable Minister for Communications & IT, thereafter for the cabinet for approval.
