Manmohan Singh sets example for austerity!

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh hosted a party to celebrate the anniversary of the UPA Government and the food served costed only Rs.7721 per plate. This is happening in a country where 77 percent of people have a daily income of below Rs.20 and these people are being subjected to furthur miseries in the name of reforms.

Onslaught of central govt against the people continues unabated-In the name of the so called reforms the Manmohan Singh govt has inflicted another burden on the people.This time service tax is imposed on railway passenger fares,cargo and auxilary services.Any hike in cargo would invariably result in furthur  price rise of essential commodities and people are already reeling under rocketing price rise due to various anti-people measurers.

BSNEU AIC-Office bearers elected

All India Conference being held at Ludhiana has reelected Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri(President)Com.P.Abhimanyu(General Secretary) and Com.S.C.Bhattacharjee(Treasurer) Com.Animesh Mitra from West Bengal is the new Deputy General Secretary.The conference has adopted resolutions on important issues.AIBDPA congratulates all the newly elected comrades.

Greece virtually paralised as 40 lakh workers struck work

50000 people joined the march in central Athens on 26th Sep during the general strike against new austerity measures planned in Greece. Everyone-from shopkeepers, pharmacists, teachers, customs workers, railways, civil aviation and bus workers participated in the strike.The govt has hammered out a $14.87 billion package of spending cuts.

Prime Minister opposes daily minimum wage of Rs.110

It is reported in the press that a proposal of the labour ministry to fix a minimum daily wage to Rs.110 for the workers in the country who are subjected to sheer exploitation,is opposed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.The demand of the central trade unions is Rs.10000 per month and the labour ministry agreed only for Rs.3500 per month.What a  aam aadmi government!

Com.A K Bhattacharjee addresses AIC, BSNLEU

President,AIBDPA,Com.A K Bhattacharjee addressed the delegates session of the 6th All India Conference on today,26th September.Conveying the greetings of AIBDPA to all the leaders and delegates Com.Bhattacharjee mentioned some of the important issues of the pensioners and sought the continued help of BSNLEU to settle the issues and strengthen AIBDPA at all levels.

Rousing start to AIC of BSNLEU

The 6th All India Conference of BSNL Employees Union has been inaugurated by Com.A K Padmanabhan,President,CITU on 25th Sep at Ludhiana in Punjab. Com.VAN Namboodiri presided. Com.M.Krishnan (SG,NFPE) and Com.P.Abhimanyu spoke. Open session held in the evening was inaugurated by Com.Tapan Sen MP and addressed by eminent leaders.

After the ethnic violences,it is the turn of flood.Brahmaputra is flowing above the danger mark and the death toll has gone upto 18.So far 17.60 lakh people of 2055 villages in 16 districts are affected.Over 4 lakh people are in 297 relief camps and 127 shelter centres.
