The number of rapes in India shot up from 1953 to 2011 by a staggering 873 per cent.
Sexual crimes against women have been rising alarmingly all across the country, according to a report in the Peoples Democracy.Among the metros Delhi topped the list with 2620 rape cases from 2007 to 2011.Mumbai had 1033 cases,Bangalore 383,Chennai 293 and Kolkata 200.
This was three times faster than all cognisable crimes put together and three and half faster than murder.
And what is the worrysome fact is that in three of the four cases of rape, the culprits went unpunished in Delhi between 2002 and 2011.

Banking law(Amendment)Bill gets Loksabha”s nod

Another anti-people bill, the the Banking Laws(Amendment)Bill has been passed by the Loksabha on 18th December,2012

despite strong opposition by the left parties. The bill seeks to raise the voting rights of the investors in private sector banks

to 26 per cent from 10 per cent and increase the cap on voting rights of private investors in Public Sector Banks to 10 per cent

from 1 per cent. This will enable the corporates both Indian and foriegn to capture full control of the Indian banking system and

the advantages and facilities being enjoyed by the common people after the nationalisation of banks will be nullified. The rural

population, especially the poor farmers will be the worst sufferers.

The bank employees and officers have already decided to launch a nationwide STRIKE on 20-12-2012 against this draconian bill and it is the bounden

duty of all the country loving people to support the strike.
