Vellore District Branch in Tamilnadu  is one of the best district branches for effective and systematic functioning.A well attended special Generalbody meeting  was held on 8th May,2014.Com.Elumalai, District President presided over the meeting.Com.Jothisuthanthiranathan,District Secretary welcomed the gathering.

Com.Muthusundaram,President, All India State Govt.Employees Federation was the chief Guest and spoke elaborately on ‘New Economic Policy and attack on pension ‘ which was very educative.Com.C.K.Narasimhan, Circle Secretary made a special address and gave a detailed account of the recent developments with particular stress to the pensioners issues.

Com.K.G.Jayaraj,General Secretary has been informed by Shri. Prachish Khanna, Director (Estt), DOT, on  9th May that the clarifications sought by the Department of Expenditure is yet to be finalized and the file is still pending with DOT Finance.

This is nothing but sheer negligence and apathy of the bureaucrats towards the genuine issues of the pensioners despite our regular interventions and meeting the top officers including Secretary, DOT.

Once the election proceedings are over we have to resort to other options .

AIBDPA, KUTCH/BHUJ SSA Unit has been formed in a largely attended meeting of pensioners held at Gandhidham on 5th May,2014.Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri,  inaugurating the meeting explained in detail the issues of the pensioners and the efforts being taken by the CHQ to settle them. Com,M.B.Chaniyara, Circle Secretary, Gujarat and Com.Sunil Thakkar, District Secretary, BSNLEU also addressed the meeting.Office bearers were elected with Com.J.H.Bhagktari (President) and Com.Devadas (District Secretary)

COM.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor, AIBDPA  has met the top officers in DOT on 2nd May,2014 and pursued the issue of 78.2% IDA merger and demanded early settlement. The officers have replied that the clarifications sought by the Department of Expenditure is being finalised.

However nobody has given any definite date as to when it will be sent to the Department of Expenditure, which means the buerocrats are playing the game of delay tactics purposely.

AIBDPA is committed to wage further agitations on this issue once the Loksabha elections are over.

KHARAGPUR DISTRICT CONFERENCE.
The second biennial district conference was held at Telephone
Exchange premises,Kharagpur on 20th April,2014 under the presedium
of Coms.S.P.Dhabal, P.B.Das, D.C.Mitra and B.Gayen.
Com.Susanta Ghosh, CHQ Vice President & Circle Secretary, West Bengal
inaugurated the conference.Com.Pijush Chakraborty,Asst.Circle Secretary,
Com.Biren Maity (CGPA), Com.Pranab Mitra (BSNLEU)Sanjib Debnath
(BSNLCMU) etc addressed.
The report and accounts presented by Com.Anupam Saha,Dist Secretary
and Com.Tapan Kr Pal,Treasurer were adopted after discussion.Office bearers
were elected with Com.S.P.Dhabal-President,Com.Anupam Saha-Secretary and
Com.Tapan Kr Pal-Treasurer.

JALPAIGURI DISTRICT CONFERENCE.
The biennial Jalpaiguri Dist.Conference has been held successfully
on 27th April,2014 at Karmachari Bhawan.Coms.Nilakanth Roy,Sunil
Kr Dev and Sukumar Dev were in the presedium.
Com.Susanta Ghosh,Circle Secretary inaugurated the conference and
was addrressed by Com.Pijush Chakraborty, Asst.Circle Secretary and leaders
of State Govt.Pensioners Association,CGPA,LIC Pensioners Association,12th July
Committee,BSNLEU & BSNLCMU.
Com.M.L.Mukharjee,District Secretary presented the report and Com.Aloke Sen
Gupta,Treasurer submitted the accounts which were adopted after discussion.
A 17 member officevearers were elected with the following important functionaries.
President-Com.Sunil Kr Dev. District Secretary-Com.Nilakantha Roy and
Treasurer-Com.Biplab Chakraborty.

The Jaipur District Conference has been held successfully at BSNLEU
Office,Jaipur on 25th April,2014 under the presidentship of Com.K.L.Ojha,
District President.
Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri,Advisor,AIBDPA,and President,BSNLEU inaugurated
the confernce.Coms.K.P.Sharma,CHQ Org Secretary&Circle President,S.K.Anand,
Circle Secretary,Ashok Pareek,Circle Secretary,BSNLEU and Vijay Singh,All India
Org Secretary,BSNLEU spoke.
Com.P.K.Jain,District Secretary presented the report and was approved after
discussion.Officebearers were elected with Com.Ojha-President,Com.K.L.Meena,
District Secretary and Com.H.S.Sharma-Treasurer

COM.V.A.N.NAMBOODIRI,ADVISOR,AIBDPA HAS MET SHRI.M.F.FAROOQUI,SECRETARY,DOT ON 22ND APRIL,2014 AND EXPRESSED STRONG PROTEST ON THE UNDUE DELAY IN ISSUING THE ORDERS FOR EXTENDING THE BENEFITS OF 78.2% IDA MERGER TO BOTH PRE AND POST 2007 BSNL PENSIONERS.HE ALSO DREW THE ATTENTION OF THE SECRETARY THAT THE CLARIFICATIONS SOUGHT BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EXPENDITURE HAS NOT YET BEEN GIVEN BY THE DOT EVEN AFTER ONE MONTH.THE SECRETARY STATED THAT HE IS ALWAYS SYMPATHETIC TO THE ISSUES OF PENSIONERS AND IMMEDIATELY SPOKE TO THE MEMBER (FINANCE) , WHERE THE FILE IS PENDING, TO DO THE NEEDFUL URGENTLY.

THEREAFTER COM.NAMBOODIRI ALSO MET MS.ANNIE MOREAS,MEMBER(FINANCE),DOT  WHO TOO ASSURED EARLY ACTION ON THE ISSUE.
