78.2% IDA MERGER- THE DELAY TACTICS CONTINUES.

On 13th November, General Secretary, Com. K. G. Jayaraj, went to Sanchar Bhawan mainly to ascertain the progress in the preparation of cabinet note for extending the benefit of 78.2% IDA merger to the BSNL pensioners, both pre 2007 and post 2007. But he could not meet Secretary,DOT, Member(Services), Member(Finance) and DDG(Esst), as all were in meeting. Most of the occasions this the experience. However, he could meet Shri.Sanjay Agarwal who is in charge of Director(Estt),being the regular Director, Shri.Prachish Khanna on leave. He told Com. Jayaraj that the process to get the consent of Secretary, DOT to prepare the cabinet note is going on and he had no idea as to when the consent will be got. The file from the Department of Expenditure was sent to DOT on 16th October, 2014 and even after one month, the preparation of cabinet note is yet to start. This is the state of affairs taking place in every concerned departments and it is nothing but non accountability and purposeful delay tactics.

SO,LET US RESPOND STRONGLY AGAINST THIS NEGATIVE APPROACH, BY MAKING THE SANCHAR BHAWAN MARCH ON 20TH NOVEMBER,A GREAT SUCCESS!

Life Certificate for Pensioners through Digital Certificate

The Central Government is proposing to introduce an Adhar based Digital Certification system through which the pensioners will be able to submit life certificate through online.

At present pensioners, Central, state, PSUs and other pensioners are required to submit a Life Certificate to the Post office, Bank etc., from where the pensioner receives the pension, in the month of November every year. For this, they have to present themselves before the concerned authority. This results in much hardship to the pensioners, who are ill or who are away in other places, foreign countries etc.

The present system, when introduced will benefit many pensioners. But the infrastructure including the bio-metrics and concerned software.

It is reported that at present there are about 50 Lakh Central Pensioners, 50 lakh State pensioners, 25 lakh Defence Pensioners as also lakhs of PSU pensioners.

ENCOURAGING RESPONSE TO SANCHAR BHAWAN MARCH.

In spite of old age and suffering from various ailments, the BSNL and DOT pensioners in the country are determined to make the Sanchar Bhawan March on 20th November, 2014, a resounding success. From the massive response of the pensioners, it has become clear that the participation will be more than CHQ’s expectation. It is very obvious that the 29 demands identified by the Central Executive Committee Meeting held at Coimbatore on 29th & 30th July, 2014 has enthused the pensioners and the negligence and negative approach of DOT as well as BSNL management towards their genuine demands has added insult to injury. CHQ is making all out efforts to ensure comfortable accommodation to those pensioners coming from far off circles.

MASSIVE AND COMPLETE STRIKE BY BANK EMPLOYEES.

More than 10 lakh bank employees joined the nation wide strike on 12th November, 2014 against the negative approach of the Indian Banks Association and the central government on the wage agreement. This is the third strike waged by the bank employees under the joint banner of United Forum of Bank Unions for one and the same issue. The last wage agreement has expired in 2012 and 14 rounds of bilateral talks held have not yielded any positive result. The unions have been taking a very positive stand all along and have come down from 30 per cent hike to 17.5 percent which was granted in the last wage agreement. Therefore the strike is fully justified and this has reflected in the massive participation.
