GUNTER WILHELM GRASS, FAMOUS GERMAN PROGRESSIVE WRITER PASSES AWAY.

Günter Wilhelm Grass was a German novelist, poet, playwright, illustrator, graphic artist, sculptor and recipient of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Literature. He was widely regarded as Germany’s most famous recently living writer.
 

HASSAN DISTRICT CONFERENCE HELD SUCCESSFULLY.

Hassan District Conference has been held successfully at Seetharamanjeneya Temple hall, Hassan on 10-04-2015 under the presidentship of Com. K. Narasimhan, District President.

The open session was inaugurated by Shri.K.M.Shetty, General Manager, BSNL, Hassan. Shri.O.Prashanth, DGM, BSNL, Hassan, Com. G. G. Patil, CHQ Organising Secretary, Com. S. A. Bilagi, Circle Secretary and Shri. S. S. Ritti spoke. Com. S. Nagaraju, District Secretary, BSNLEU welcomed the gathering. Com. A. M. Poojari, Circle President and Com. K. Krishna participated in the conference.

Office bearers were elected unanimously with the following important functionaries.

Com. Zuleed Ahamed (President) Com. S. S. Ramachandra (District Secretary) and Com. K.C.Chandra Shetty (Treasurer)

DOT AND BSNL ISSUES STRICT INSTRUCTIONS FOR EARLY SETTLEMENT OF PENSION CASES.

 

The sustained efforts on the part of the AIBDPA with the DOT and BSNL for settling the pension cases urgently have got some results. Now the DOT and BSNL both has issued orders and directions to the CGMs/CCAs for early settlement of the  pension cases. The Circle secretaries of AIBDPA and BSNLEU are requested the pursue the case at their level so that the remaining cases are settled early. The orders are put in the websites of BSNLEU and AIBDPA.

AIR INDIA RECOVERS FROM HUGE LOSSES TO PROFIT.

After a streak of losses, Air India has reported a net profit of Rs 14.6 crore in December last year, from a loss of Rs 168.7 crore in the corresponding period of 2013.

Besides, it has also managed to reduce its losses from as high as Rs 7,599 crore in fiscal 2011-12 to Rs 5,490 crore in financial year 2012-13 and a further down to Rs 5,388 crore in FY-14, respectively.”

Congratulations to the workers and the management for the effort to save the PSU. Hope it will come back to financial viability soon.

It is to be remembered that the role of the Air India in evacuating persons from the war fields of Yemen as also From Kashmir, Uttarakhand etc. during natural calamities  has been widely appreciated.

KARNATAKA CIRCLE EXECUTIVE COMMITTE MEETING HELD SUCCESSFULLY AT HASSAN.

Karnataka Circle has conducted its Circle Executive Committee Meeting on 10th April, 2015 successfully at Hassan. The CEC was presided over by Com. Monappa Poojari, Circle Prsesident. Com. G. G. Patil, CHQ Organising Secretary inaugurated the meeting and explained in detail the pensioners issues including the present position of 78.2% IDA merger to BSNL pensioners, memorandum submitted to the 7th Pay Commission, the two days strike by Forum of BSNL Unions/ Association on 21-22, April, 2015 and the ensuing Central Executive Committee Meeting being held at Jamnagar on 28-29, April, 2015.

Com. S. A. Bilagi, Circle Secretary presented the interim report and Com. C. G. Annegiri, Circle Treasurer reported on financial position. All the Circle office bearers and district secretaries attended the meeting and participated in the discussion.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Payment of Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees – Revised Rates effective from 1.1.2015.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s Office Memorandum No. l/2/2014-E-II (B) dated 18th September, 2014 on the subject mentioned above and to say that the President is pleased to decide that the Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 107% to 113% with effect from 1st January, 2015.

2. The provisions contained in paras 3, 4 and 5 of this Ministry’s O.M. No. l(3)/2008-E-II(B) dated 29lh August, 2008 shall continue to be applicable while regulating Dearness Allowance under these orders.

3. The additional installment of Dearness Allowance payable under these orders shall be paid in cash to all Central Government employees.

4. These orders shall also apply to the civilian employees paid from the Defence Services Estimates and the expenditure will be chargeable to the relevant head of the Defence Services Estimates. In regard to Armed Forces personnel and Railway employees, separate orders will be issued by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways, respectively.

5. In so far as the employees working in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders are issued with the concurrence of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
