AIBDPA GET-TOGETHER IN KOLKATA ON 18 NOVEMBER 2015

Largely attended and lively GET-TOGETHER under the auspices of All India BSNL-DoT Pensioners Association (AIBDPA), Kolkata Telephones Circle held at Kolkata CTO Hall on 18th November’15. Chief General Manager Shri Amit Bhattacharjee graced the occasion with his valuable speech. Com. Supriya Mitra Presided. Amongst the speakers were Comrades Ananta Bhattacharjee, Sanjib Banerjee, Saibal Sengupta and others. Many comrades presented cultural programmes conducted by Com. Swastika Dasgupta.

Operational profit for BSNL ?

It is reported that BSNL will have an ‘operational profit’ of Rs.600 crore in 2014-15. Well and good. The joint effort of workers and Management is getting results. If BSNL is able to keep the trend and/ improve, it can be profitable within two- three years.

RAJASTHAN CIRCLE CONFERENCE HELD SUCCESSFULLY AT JAIPUR.

The Circle Conference of AIBDPA Rajasthan Circle was held at Community Hall, P and T Colony Jaipur on 18 November 2015. Com. K.P.Sharma, President, presided. Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor, AIBDPA, inaugurated the conference. He spoke in detail about the issues of pensioners, VII CPC, All India Conference and organisational matters. The report presented by Circle Secretary Com, S.K.Anand was approved by the house. Delegates seriously participated in the discussions. Coms Ashok Pareek, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, RG Dixit, Circle Secretary, NFTE, Rasheed Khan, AGS TEPU and other leaders addressed.

Office bearers with Com.K.P.Sharma as Circle President and Com.M.K.Nagpal as Circle Secretary were unanimously elected.

Turkey: Nakliyat-İş organized a Solidarity Demonstration in front of the Greek Consulate

Nakliyat-İş, a WFTU affiliate in Turkey, organized an action of solidarity to the General strike of PAME on November 12th, in Greece. “Solidarity to the Greek Workers” was written on their banner.

Nakliyat-İş Trade Union organized a solidarity action to show that it fully supports the struggle of PAME in Greece.

They organized the action in front of Istanbul Consulate of Greece. Before the press release, Nakliyat-İş  made a march along with such slogans as “Long live the international solidarity of working class”, “Long live international solidarity”, “The unity of workers will overcome the capital” etc…

After the march,  a press release was made in front of the consulate building. They briefly told the situation and the struggle of Greece seamen and of course PAME in Greece against the anti-popular and anti worker policies of SYRIZA-ANEL Government.

In the press release, it was stated that in order to overcome the problems all over the World related to peoples and workers, international working class should struggle against EU and the USA imperialists. Also, it was pointed out that the workers in Turkey face the same problems in their country. That it is the only way to make an organized struggle for solving the problems of workers all over the World

WFTU in Solidarity with the Working Class of Lebanon

WFTU expresses its condolences to the families of the victims of the bombing in south Beirut, to the working class of Lebanon for this heinous crime against the Lebanese people. According to Red Cross sources, 43 people were killed and 239 were also wounded, several in critical condition. The location of the bombing attack is not random, the aim of the attack were the supporters of Hezbollah.

Their purpose is the hitting of the Lebanese Resistance, the working class of Lebanon, despite the hitting continues to resist against Imperialism, Israel, USA, NATO and aids with ever means the resistance of other peoples.

WFTU calls its affiliates and friends to express their solidarity to the Lebanese people. We demand an end to the Imperialistic interventions against the people of Middle East. We strongly believe that the people of its country have the right to decide freely and democratically for their present and future.

BRPSE on the way out?

 

The government is considering a proposal to dissolve the Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises (BRPSE), Heavy Industries Minister Anant Geete said on Tuesday.

“We are in discussions to create a new entity for sick PSUs,” he said on the sidelines of a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) function. (Courtesy: ET)

The intention of the government is to avoid the proceedures being followed by the BRPSE for  closure of a PSU  etc.

VII CPC will submit Report on 19 November,2015

 According to Chairman of VII Central Pay Commission, Justice Mathur, the report will be submitted to Govt. On 19 November 2015. The Staff Side of JCM of Central Govt. Employees has called earlier for massive dharna on 19th protesting delay in submissoon of report etc.

TRAI has refuted the claim of the private operators on the call drop issue.

 

The private operators have claimed that the decision of the TRAI for payment of compensation to customers, for call drops, will have a huge financial implication for them. They have stated that the expenditure on this account would be to the tune of Rs.54,000 crore per annum. However the TRAI has rejected this claim. It has stated that the financial implication  will be less than Rs.200 cross per quarter and has also stated that this will be less than 1% of the total revenue of the telecom operators.

Trade Unions oppose recent increase in FDI in several sectors

 

The mad run of the Modi government increasing FDI in many sectors, including up to 100% has been severely criticised by the Central Trade Unions. In a Press Statement BMS General Secretary Vrijesh Upadhyay has pointed out that the increase in FDI has not benefited the country. More money has gone out of India, than what has been invested here, he said. In 2012-13 alone 8 times of the FDI was outfowed,he pointed out.

CITU President A.K.Padmanabhan and AITUC Secretary D.L.Sachdev have also strongly opposed the decision to increase FDI.

RBI staff will be on Mass Casual Leave on 19th November 2015

RBI Protesting against the government move to take over several functions of the RBI and also demanding periodic pension revision, the United Forum of Reserve Bank Officers and Employees has called upon the employees and officers to go on Mass Casual Leave on 19th November 2015. The government is trying to take over reduce the authority of the RBI by taking its powers. The RBI pensioners are not getting any pension revision and hence receiving only pension fixed at the time of retirement. The agitation programme is fully justified and is to be supported.
