NO INCREASE IN IDA FROM 01-04-2016

According to the Consumer Price Index released by the Central Labour Department, there will not be any increase in the present IDA of 112.4% from 1st April to 30th June, 2016.

It is a mockery that the price index has no relation to the actual prices of essential commodities.

78.2% IDA MERGER- SECRETARY, DOT ASSURES CABINET NOTE WILL BE SENT.

 

Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Advisor, AIBDPA, today, 31st March 2016, met Shri J.S.Deepak, Secretary DOT on the issue of 78.2% IDA Pension fixation for the pre- June 2013 BSNL pensioners. Com.Namboodiri pointed out the undue delay in submitting the case to the cabinet for approval. Secretary DOT assured that the the Cabinet Note is on his table and there will be no further delay in forwarding the same. Com.Namboodiri also demanded that the 60:40 condition for payment of pension should not be there which is creating difficulties in pension revision. He  stressed the need for automatic pension revision, since pension revision is part of pension. He brought to the notice of the DOT the extra efforts made by the unions/associations in BSNL for improving the services which is showing results and the need for financial support from the government.

It is expected from the discussion that the file may be submitted to the Minister/Cabinet with out further delay. This is the second time that AIBDPA is meeting the Secretary DOT in this month, in addition to meeting the Minister Communications Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad on 09-03-2016, in which the entire issue was brought to his notice in detail for early decision.

CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS DECIDE FOR NATIONAL STRIKE ON 2ND SEPTEMBER,2016.

 

The National Convention of Workers held at Mavlankar Hall, New Delhi, today, 30 March 2016, has called upon the entire workers to go on one day strike on 2 September 2016 on the demands raised by the Central Trade Unions and on which a strike has already been organised on 2 September last year. The hall was packed to capacity and many delegates were sitting on the floor or standing. Convention was presided over by a presidium consisting of the President/Senior leader of all the central trade unions, including Coms. A.K.Padmanabhan ( CITU), Amarjeet Kaur (AITUC) and others. Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy (INTUC), Harbhajan Singh (HMS), Gurudas Dasgupta (AITUC), Tapan Sen(CITU) and other leaders addressed. All the speakers condemned the anti-worker policies of the central government and called upon the workers to unitedly to campaign against the same. The Declaration adopted by the convention decided to organise similar conventions at state/District levels in June- July and Mass Dharna on 9th August 2016. It called upon the workers to organise a massive strike on 2 September 2016 with full participation. Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, Patron, Com.P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary and Com.Kuldeep Singh, Asst. Self-printing of the E-CGHS card facility launched by Union Health Minister

The Union Health Minister, while launching the self-printing of the E-CGHS card, stated that this will provide ease and access to all those beneficiaries such as the pensioners who may find it difficult to go to the CGHS centres for renewal, and in the event of loss/misplacement of the card. As this can be printed from any location once the process of application based on authentic documents has been approved, this enables easy reprinting by the beneficiary himself/herself. The beneficiary can access this facility by visiting the CGHS portal at cghs.nic.in where simple steps for this have been enumerated.

Special CBI Court convicts JIPL and its Directors in the Coal Scam

 

The Special CBI Court  New Delhi has convicted the private coal company, Jharkhand Ispat Private Limited and its 2 Directors in the coal scam case for cheating and criminal conspiracy. Of course there are more bigger sharks to be convicted. The punishment will be announced later.

The biggest ever scam in the country involving Rs.1.86 lakh crore, as per the CAG report, had rocked the Manmohan Singh led UPA government.

A convention was held at Bolpur Karmachari Bhavan on 20.3.16 with a view to forming the sub divisional committee of Jt Platform of the movement of the Pensioners’ organisations. A presidium consisting of Coms Ashis Mukherjee, Partha Mondal and Nirmal Chatterjee controlled the proceedings. Com. Ajit Nandan ACS WB inaugurated the convention. Other speakers were Tarapada Patra (Postal), Sandip Hazra (SGPA), Manik Ghosh (CGPA), Madan Sutradhar (Panchayet), Tapan Biswas (AIBDPA) and Suman Ghosh (ABTA). Coms.Tapan Biswas and Amrita Mondal were elected as Jt Conveners and Com. Sandip Hazra as Treasurer. Com Ajit Bose (AIBDPA) was elected as one of the eight council members.

Mahakuma (Sub Division) Committee of Jt Platform of the movement of Pensioners’ Organisations, Rampurhat (Dist.- Birbhum)

A convention was held at Rampurhat Railway Pensioners’ Association Hall on 20.3.16 for formation of Sub Divisional Committee of Jt Platform of the movement of the Pensioners’ organisations. A presidium consisting of Coms Debnath Chakraborty, Benode Behari Majumder and Anwar Hossain presided over the convention. Com. Sibsankar Roy Jt Convener of WB State Committee of the Platform inaugurated the convention. Over hundred delegates from Railway Pensioners’ Association, SGPA, CGPA, AIBDPA, Panchayet, ABTA, ABPTA etc were present. Among other speakers Com Madan Mohan Ghosh District Secretary AIBDPA took part in the deliberation. The convention called upon the members to defeat the communal, corrupt and undemocratic forces like Trinamool and BJP and to rise to the occasion to form an alternative left, democratic and secular Government in the State.

Coms. Mahadev Banerjee and Vivekananda Chatterjee were elected as Jt Convener and Com Ashok Mondal as Treasurer.
