Erode district branch organised a special convention on 28-07-2016 to celebrate the achievements of 78.2% IDA fixation and annulment of 60:40 condition for payment of pensionary benefits. Before the start of the convention crackers were fired and slogans shouted hailing the victory.

Com.K.G.Jayaraj, General Secretary while inaugurating the convention gave a good account of developments in achieving the demands and the struggles waged both by AIBDPA and Forum under the leadership of BSNLEU. He also covered the 7th Pay Commission recommendations and slammed the central government for the unilateral implementation. Com.K.Karunanidhi, Retd DGM and District Vice President presided. Coms. C.K.Narasimhan, Circle Secretary, Com.S.Mohandoss, CHQ Vice President and Circle President, P.Chinnasamy, ACS, L.Parameswaran, District Secretary, BSNLEU, N.Ramaswamy(AIPRPA) and K.Pazhanisamy, District Secretary, TNTCWU addressed. Com.N.Kuppusamy, District Secretary welcomed the gathering  and Com.S.Ayyasamy proposed vote of thanks. More than 200 hundred comrades including 22 lady comrades participated.

The 4th biennial district conference of Coimbatore has been held successfully at Divyoday Hall, Coimbatore on 27-07-2016. Com.V.Subramoniam, District President controlled the proceedings. The open session was inaugurated by Com. K. G. Jayaraj, General Secretary with an elaborate speech covering the achievement of 78.2% IDA merger, annulment of 60:40, implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations, National Strike on September 2, 2016 etc. Coms C.K.Narasimhan, Circle Secretary, S.Mohandoss, CHQ Vice President & Circle President,  C.Rajendran, District Secretary, BSNLEU, Presennan, District Secretary, SNEA, Karunanidhi (AIPRPA), S.Chandran (TNGTA), N.Kuppusamy, District Secretary, Erode, Jothisudanthiranathan, District Secretary, Vellore addressed. The report and accounts presented were approved after discussion. A 17 member office bearers were elected unanimously with the following important functionaries.
